Lets trade for the other Gasol, the brother, to replace Mutombo for next year.

They said in NBATV he has lost like 20lbs and now he is playing pretty well.

He have some post move, he can pass, he can block shoot and he can occasionally hit the international 3P

Flip Murray has lost his spot in the Detroit rotation, and he could be the point guard the rockets are looking for to come off the bench. He can score and he is a expiring. It seems like a lateral move except rockets get a player that could contribute.

    Kirk Snyder for Flip?

Moreso for the future than help right now, I think the Rockets should steal Gerald Green from Minny. He hardly plays, and I think his contract his up at the end of the year. The Rockets were really high on him the year they selected Luther.

That, and I'm a believer every slam dunk champion ends up being a good contributor in someway :)

The Cavs are hurting so bad right now they just lost to Dnver by 30 points.

Rockets should throw them a lifeline and trade Hates a starting calibre PF for their TE which is equal to Hayes's salary.

This is a gamble for the Rockets but they sign Mike Harris as a replacement.

Of course the Rockets need to get something out of this. Cavs trade 3 out of rotation expiring contracts in Newble, S.Brown, D.Brown for Mike James.

The expiring contracts make salary space that will be needed to re-sign upcoming free agents Landry and Bonzi (if not Bonzi, a replacement swingman)

These moves would also get Rockets under LT.

LeBron is desperate and speaking out to the media. Hopefully their GM is feeling the pressure.

i like dat trade..any move that will ship M. James out again will be okay..either with the same contract or expirings as long that player will contribute to the Rox off the bench or financially...

Was he really that bad? I think it was more of a perception that he was such a bust - mostly because he was "Baby Jordan". He wasn't close to that, so people went on to say he sucked. My point stands. :p

Why would the Grizzlies do this? They will not take on James' contract and give us back Mike Miller.

Here's a deal which works on the trade checker and I think the Grizzlies would be interested in:

    To Memphis
Francis (Expiring - I doubt he will take the player option in Memphis)
    Snyder (Expiring)
Head (Young, cheap and can be part of their rebuilding process)
    Novak (See Head)
James (Same contract as Cardinal but a year less)
    2008 1st round pick

    To Houston
    Mike Miller (For obvious reasons)
Cardinal (Get rid of the log jam at 1/2 with James gone, and we get a 6-8 forward who can shoot to spread the floor and can play better defense than NOVAK (how do i know he can play better D than Novak...becuase you and I can play better defense than Novak)...all this if he gets any minutes)
    2nd round pick

    Fred Jones?

If you think the Rockets are getting Okafor, you need to stay out of Grandmas pills.

I'd rather see the Rockets trade Snyder, cash and a future second rounder to get under the luxury tax before needlessly trading away a legit defensive stalwart with a very reasonable salary. Honestly, I think the "value" that the team got in Hayes (i.e., the amount by which Hayes's actual value exceeds the amount of his contract) is greater than the amount of luxury tax that Les will have to pay this year.

I'd guess Landry will get at least 3.5M (Amir Johnson got that for doing less). Rockets will have around 5M before hitting luxury tax next season. That leaves around 1.5M to sign a replacement for Bonzi and fill a few open roster spots.

If it's going to cost Hayes to get rid of Mike James's contract they have to do it.

Real gm trade checker approved the following

    Jason Kidd

    for

Alston, Steve, MJ, Novak, and Snyder - Only 2 of the 5 actually play. More like 1.25 of the 5 actually play. Novak is the .25 in case you were wondering.

The longest contract is MJ and Alston with 2 years left. Everyone else is basically done. I would throw in a first rounder to help.
