Trade CP3 and rebuild or embrace the "win now" strategy?

Discussion in 'Houston Rockets: Game Action & Roster Moves' started by Aruba77, Dec 10, 2018.

?

Trade Chris Paul and his enormous contract while we can?

  1. yes, move him sooner than later; rebuild around Harden and Clint

He's already played 28 games this year...His extremely injury-prone body is also a concern.

    The problem is:

Nobody is going to take old injury-prone CP3 with so big contract.

Even the dumbest NBA team wont do it.

Right. So you really want to make a franchise altering decision like trading him after 28 games? It is true the injury issue will always be there with him unfortunately. But that was known when you signed him.

CP3 is not last season's CP3 any more.
Even Rondo playing better than him now. That is out of my expectation.

We will have to, after being knock out first round in the playoffs.

Should have never resigned CP3 to that ridiculous contract.

Harden is good as gone if we trade CP3 right now. Gordon and Austin will hopefully keep CP3 minutes low. He should not play more than 32 minutes in the reg season and no b2b.

Trading CP is not a realistic option for at least 2 years

Nah, the vast majority of clutch fans feels the same way. The problem is the same 10 or so people that think they know better are extremely vocal, because they will keep creating new ideas, even if the initial premise doesn’t make sense.

We don’t need 50 threads to explain that we are stuck with Chris Paul, for better or worse for various reasons. However, if you don’t understand how trades and the cap work, any trade will seem better than what we have.

I’ve learned to have more faith in clutch fans over the years. The smart guys are always lurking somewhere.

Yes, you want to before his value absolutely plummets.

I thin they want to limit him to one game on this back to back.

That’s one way to look at it. But I’m not sure it’s a forgone conclusion that his value will plummet. He’s an hof caliber guy. I would rather have patience with him. He was so huge for us last year!
