Steve Young, Joe Montana, Steve McNair, Brett Favre, John Elway, Roger Staubach...etc..etc..etc....

You could not be more wrong, Vince Young is MILES better than Vick, and he will be very effective in the NFL, because he can do so much more than just sit in the pocket and throw the ball.

Vince Young will have a Hall of Fame career in the NFL barring serious injury.

All of the names you listed were far better passer than Young is or will be.

How is Young MILES better than Vick?

Young had a great season this year but 1 great season in College Football doesn't equal a Hall of Fame career.

If the Texans pass up Bush they will regret it.

I'm not arguing with anyone on how good Vince is.

    Scoreboard, stat sheet, etc etc

Did you know that Pete Carrol is considered one of the greater defensive minds in football?

I have to ask, how is someone's opinion of the future wrong?

How the hell do we know for sure how good either will be at the next level?

Geez, I hope only one comes out so we can forget these stupid arguments. Why can't we just be happy that the Texans will get a great player no matter who they pick?

As of a few days ago, just about everyone said we HAD to get Bush 'cause he is a once-in-a-generation player and, after one game, everyone has jumped bandwagons. What did Bush not do that made him a bust? He had a great game outside of being under-utilized. And, if it wasn't for Young's comeback performance, he would still be the talk of the town. And Young's game was off the charts, but we all knew USC's defense sucked going in. That's why everyone thought it would be a high scoring game. I'm not trying to take anything from Young's performance, but it's not like he was up against a stallworth.

Yes, and it didn't show last nite.

You can't possibly tell me that was a good defensive scheme last nite

A guy like Vince Young can make the best defensive schemes look bad.

    Young > Vick

    Not injury prone
    Taller
    Bigger
    Stronger
    More poised in the pocket
    More accurate passer
    More efficient passer
Better leadership-- demonstrated come back ability in big games
    Breaks tackles
    Just as elusive
    And just as fast
    Doesn't scramble out of panic
Seems to read at least 2 receivers on progressions
    Good touch on passes

other than that they compare nicely

Well I think a lot of that could have been said about Vick when he was coming out.

In the end, it's pointless to debate until he shows up in the NFL.

Predicting how college prospects will work out is like predicting the weather, sometimes it's right on the nose, others it's way off

Personally, I think the Texans would be better suited taking Bush.

No he isn't. Carr has shown anything to anyone to justify his draft status. He's also been pounded more than any other quarterback in the league and has been poorly coach for 4 years. Also, DD is a nice player, but a 1,000 yard back is not hard to come by. Keep in mind that when the Seahawks and Colts tried to trade Edge and Alexander, they couldn't get anything better than 3rd round picks for them. You think DD has BETTER value?

Young has more potential for sure. Vick is a small framed guy who gets injured a lot. He also panics.

Woa GRENDAL! Watch what you say!

Say anything not complimentary about Young or premote Bush on this board, is like telling a room of 3rd graders there is no Santa.

draft bush. if bush didnt do that dumb lateral in the first quarter, that would of been an extra 40-50 yards padded on his stat sheet. that game was very winnable by USC, no idea why they did the stupid things they did to lose the game at the end other than....it was prob rigged.

You people are unbelievable!!! Bush Bowl this, #5 that! It amazes me how fast people can change their minds. Of course Vince had an insane game! Perobably the best individual performance ever. But Reggie Bush didn't have a bad game people! 13 carries, 84 yds + 6 receptions, 95 yds and a TD. Sure he didn't run for 200+ like he did in his last two games, but he showed everyone that he can hurt you from multiple postions. With Vince young being from Houston and likely coming out, it makes the thought of picking him very enticing, but lets not forget that Reggie Bush will open up our offense for everyone! I'm still taking Reggie. Out.

Lendale White will be the better back from USC
I was impressed with him last nite
Bush was exposed . . .against competition that he cannot simply outrun

Texans saying they will keep carr
which is why I said we should have gotten rid of casserly too

As long as casserly is there the Texans are doomed for mediocrity

Those Bush Jerseys will sell out the second they hit stores. Vince would be great to have. But a good QB, Pro Bowl RB,corner,WR and a solid core will get us to the Super Bowl. When i say solid core that means a new O-Line.

My concern with Reggie is can he run up the middle at all? I don't know. If he can't, he is pointless because NFL teams won't let him beat them to the edge everytime he gets the ball.
