    He touched the ball 8 times on offense. That's solid.

    and you think he's gonna do that in the NFL? you think he'll average 12.5 yards a carry?

    if he averages 5 yards a carry, he'll be on a pro bowl pace. but if he's only getting 15 carries or so, that ain't that impressive.

    And you think Vince Young will run the ball 19 times for 200 yards? And complete 30 passes to uncovered recievers 15 yards out?

    My post was to refute someone stating that he did nothing in big games.

    of course i don't think that.

    but this is the point about bush. how many carries will he get?? 15?? again...even if he leads the league in yards per carry, he's still well under 100 yards rushing.

    Again we're assuming Bush is a 15-20 carry a game guy. But he'll also average around 5 catches per game. He'll get around the same # of touches as LT does.

    buttshell, you are assuming bush will improve as a pro (at least on number of carries?) and vy will be worse as a pro. seems a little biased. if they both do equally well in relation to how they did in college, then it's a no brainer to pick vy, don't you agree?

    Why? They both had amazing stats. It's not a no-brainer at all.

    1. because QB's last longer than RB's, on average;

    2. because VY is ALREADY a hometown hero...and all that means for the franchise;

    3. because you might think that having a franchise QB is more valuable than having a franchise RB...on and off the field;

    4. other reasons i can't think of right now! :)

    if they are both great you take the qb. besides, young led his team to the title- bush watched his team lose the title. yes i know it's only one game but it was THE game. i hate a-rod types that put up huge numbers only to choke in the big games. **** that. i like winners.

    We already have a franchise QB right now! Whether you like him or not. We don't have a franchise RB.

    You don't trade a Good, proven QB for one with potential. You just don't. Name a team that has?

    Whether you like it or not, as of now they are of equal value, at best, with most experts giving Bush the slight edge, so you can't use the "best player in the draft" argument, either.

    The Texans don't need a QB.

    I'm sorry but we do NOT have a franchise QB right now. You must be kidding me. What has David Carr done in the last 4 years to make you say that he's Good/Proven let alone franchise QB.

    Did we draft him as our franchise QB? Yes we sure did. Is our a franchise QB now? Hell no.

    And if we don't have a franchise RB, why the hell did we just give our current RB, franchise RB type money? I am with everybody in the fact that DD is only an average RB and he breaks down way too often but he did just sign a $21 Million dollar extension before this past season.

    I'm sorry but if anybody on this board or in Houston still thinks that David Carr is a franchise superstart QB, then they are out of their d*mn mind. I just don't believe that he's the QB that's going to lead this team to the Super Bowl, so why should we pay him an 8 million dollar bonus? Just so that management doesn't admit that they've made a mistake? Gimmee a break, cut the freaking chord already.

    Well, you keep arguing. Vince Young is not coming here because we already have our QB.

    DD has performed better during his time with the Texans than Carr.

    I think this is going to come down to how the Texans management and new coaches feel about David Carr. It's not like Reggie Bush did not come up big in the biggest games during the Trojans' run. It's not like there are not questions about Vince Young's ability to pick up defenses and throw the ball. Young and Bush have obvious strengths and weaknesses. You can make a compelling case that an offense that deftly rotates Bush, Davis and Welles at running back will open up the offense downfield for Andre Johnson and Bush in the slot. Add a few more pieces to the offensive line and a solid tight end to Kubiak's schemes and suddenly the offense can really emerge. If you keep Carr and draft Young I think you tie up too many resources in one position and you could be in the same position next year.
