Apparently, a pretty trusted "insider" on realGM sixers forum posted, But then again it is realGM, and I'd take it with a grain of salt.
Morey is very high on Rubio that offer was prior to Brooks' emergence as a go-to-guy scorer this season.
Mo Williams suffered a left shoulder sprain during Tuesday night’s game versus Toronto at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. He was examined by Cavaliers Head Team Physician Dr. Richard Parker and the Cleveland Clinic's Dr. Mark Schickendantz. Williams also received a MRI at Cleveland Clinic Sports Health, the results of which confirmed the sprain. Williams is currently projected to be out for the next four to six weeks. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/64183/20100121/mo_williams_out_four_to_six_weeks/
Go-to-guy? Are you kidding me? Brooks is a good player but he's far from a go-to-guy or have you not seen how many turnovers and bad shots he has taken at the end of games.
I'd trade anybody (maybe except Brooks, a big MAYBE) on this team for Iggy. I think he would flourish in this system. Even if it means swallowing the Dalempill.
I'm still willing to bet that Morey will pull the trigger on Battier + Brooks for Rubio + fillers. A player like Rubio has the potential to be a superstar, and in this league, you win by securing "potential" players and praying they succeed. Right now, we don't have any.
Lou Williams is another Bobby Jackson in his younger days. I don't know they'd basically lose Scola too at the end of this season. They must think about these two Scola and Lowry i don't think Rockets can resign them and for surely not if they take on salary for McGrady scenarios. So really they must trade McGrady, Scola, Cook and Lowry to anny up the deal for Speights and Young is what i'm thinking.
the biggest problem with objections to trades because of the alleged inability to re-sign players who are on the current roster is that Les has publicly said many times that he is willing to pay the luxury tax if it means we're putting a high-caliber team on the floor that is clearly contending for a championship. regarding the iggy / sammy deal - it makes sense, but the post-trade squad in '10-'11 really doesn't look like a championship team. ideally, the rockets make the trade for a true SG who can ball (be it iggy / sammy, k-mart / kenny thomas, or butler / jamison or mcgee [getting back a backup big seems to be fairly important]) and then couple that deal with one for a player like bosh (i.e. Battier / Ariza [either or], with a combination of Andersen, a draft pick and something else). THAT would be a championship team. The reality of that kind of team makeover may be slim, however, getting two upper echelon players in Houston is probably key to any sort of blockbuster move being made with the Rockets as the highlight of it.
