Ariza and Andersen can be replaced in the draft next year.Battier gets a chance to win a ring before he retires.

There is a 0% chance we trade Ariza, IMO.

Shane is on the decline, and like it or not, Trevor IS his eventual replacement. He's still young, and has more offense than Shane as is. Not as great as a defender as Shane, but still above average/borderline good.

I don't see the hype of getting AI2. Especially getting Dalembert. This guy will be an overpaid backup behind Yao. Not worth it. And if Yao bolts, Dalembert as our starting C? No thanks.

AI2 has game, but not at the expense of tacking on Dalembert.

I 100 % agree. I dont think Iggy is the right guy for us. Dalembert would be the highest paid back-up in the league next season if we did. Just doesnt have the dynamic for our team.

    Next.

I'm not against trading either of them but you gotta do better than J.Williams and Big Z.

My point was why would you leave the MLE and Yao's insurance money laying around when you can get cheap talent to help your team win in the future. That's what Morey was doing, that cap space would not have done a major help to us getting a max free agent next year.

What about T-Mac and David Anderson for Iggy and Dalembert?

I dont see us getting rid of Ariza just after Morey begged him to sign here after the failed attempts to get Gortat.

There is no way in hell we add AB or even Landry to get Iggy and Dalembert...I could live with us giving up Battier but thats about it.

Dalembert is on my fantasy team and that man constantly puts up like 12/12/2blks

Our defense would improve sooooo much if we had him clogging up the paint. Our offense is pretty good as is and just imagine if we add Iggy. We would be a scary low seeded to to face in the playoffs.

Why not? What has he done to deserve only sent to a contender. Its about the best offer.

Then why the question? I know Morey wasn't too confident of signing a big time free agent in 2010 when he signs two long-term deals with Ariza and Andersen this summer. Had he had a masterplan he would hold out until this season ends like what Pat Riley does in Miami. I never said it's the wrong thing to get cheap talent when available and these kind of low-risk transactions is the right approach when your star players' health remains unclear.

    wow really?
he deserves a chance to win a championship plus what sorry team would want interest in an aging battier most contenders want someone like him a leader who can defend and knows his role

Since Morey said nobody is untouchable I expect either Landry or one of the five starters will go if a team like the 76ers give us good young prospect in return (Thaddeus Young or Mareese Speights along with Iguodala.

However I think you can scratch Ariza, Brooks & Landry off the list. They are the future for the Rockets. We need a defensive center so scratch Hayes of the list too; I see Battier or Scola go and that would be fine by me. I love their hustle and they have been a great part of the playoffs in 2009, the 22 game winning streak and the greatest defense and hustle I have seen from Rockets players ever. It is time to move on and get younger though so farewell.

Because you're stating that not signing those two would have hurt our chances to sign a max free agent.

Ariza makes about 5 mill per year for 4 years and Andersen makes 2.3 mill per year for 3, I don't understand how 8 million off the books would really help that much this year in free agency, if 20 million from Tracy's expiring is going to be doing us jack squat for cap space.

Does that make sense? Any way we can call for the Bima signal and help out on this, I seriously doubt that would have made much of a difference.

Battier isn't going anywhere if a Philly deal is done (Philly doesn't want him). If the Philly deal gets done Ariza will move to SF as the starter and Battier will come off the bench. Honestly, I don't see Battier getting moved at all because no rebuilding teams want him (age) and no almost-contender is going to want to part with the talent necessary to get Morey to part with him.

I don't think Battier will be the starter at SF by the end of this season and that's probably a good thing. I would rather see Ariza moved but that won't happen so the next best thing is to giving him Battier's starting role (so Trevor doesn't cry) and let Battier ease into a smaller role as he ages. I think having Battier come off the bench as a pure defensive stopper (like Chuck did last year) will be a nice weapon to have.

I'm beginning to think maybe we go more for a tall PF than for a SG.

    - Morey talks about what they expect from Trevor: To repeat the same role he had in Lakers for the next 5 years. That's as starting SF. Adelman has been testing Trevor with the Kobes and Wades, maybe in views of a future without Shane.

    - Morey says the organization sees some potential All-star players on the current roster. I think they are very high on Chase Budinger, and I think he's one of them. Daryl has said that several times, yesterday said he has never had a draft pick that performs as soon like Chase. And remembered Aaron&Carl. They're now very good players. There is a possibility the franchise thinks in Chase as the future starting SG.

    - Morey talks always about building a championship team, that's the background plan at any trade. And he knows the Lakers will be toughest opponent for the next years on a championship race. They have a core of tall talented young players in Odom-Bynum-Pau (plus Kobe) so it wouldn't surprise me that he's planning to form an elite frontcourt of that caliber. And then we have the rumors about the Rockets showing interest in Bosh, Speights...

If all we lose is Battier and Tmac, for Dalembert, Iggy, and one of the young players, I would sign off on the deal.

I think fans underestimate how much this Rockets team would improve with Iggy and Dalembert on this team.

It helps a lot. Rockets could offer a close to max contract if Ariza/Andersen not on books next season. No point arguing about this subject, what is done can't be undone. I never say it's a bad signing and most probably the Rockets will seek out talent through trades.
