I'm sorry but Aaron Brooks is seriously bad. Everyone knows he is a defensive liability but his strong confidence offensive game some what balanced that out. I personally seriously can't stand how bad Brooks is on defense. For someone so explosively quick on offense to be so laterally slow is just horrible and is such a liability especially considering we don't have big defensive anchors to help him out. I thought coach did a great job with the substitutions today except with bringing Brooks in. Even though Lee wasn't playing really good I would still rather have had him in the majority with Lowry in that 4th quarter. Bottom line is I just can't stand how bad his defense is and its absolutely detrimental to our chances to make runs or win games. (on a side note Hayes are seriously been exceptional)
Yeah but you do know the context of my post, pretty different from what it appears now that the thread was rightfully merged.
In all honesty, I'm not sure what to think. Part of me wants to stay the course and hope eventually we'll get the Brooks of last year. Part of me is starting to think a change of scenery might be in the best interest of both parties. Bottom line: we're basically at the point where we have to stop making excuses for him. You aren't doing yourself any favors when you lay an egg in a contract year.
May be BUT, that show his weak attitude. He is hurting his team because he did not get his contract? How about play lights out and then go get a better contract with someone (a good team)? Then we would have blamed Morey for not extending contract. Amare part 2 please!!! The way he is playing right now... he seems like he is not even a team player. He is not being honest to the game, fans, and team.
He's actually been one of the worst players on the Rockets for two seasons now. We should have traded him back when all he mouthbreathers around the league were drooling at his 19 PPG. http://www.basketball-reference.com...comp=gt&c6mult=1.0&c6stat=&order_by=ws_per_48 http://www.basketball-reference.com...comp=gt&c6mult=1.0&c6stat=&order_by=ws_per_48
Amazing..... First it's trade brooks, then it's trade lowery.... Brooks sucks... Lowery sucks... WOW!!!!! Yes the team looks bad and their consistent at all... they have their moments, but they are not in-sync. You can trade as many players as you want and get in as many players as you like... If you look at the last 2 to 3 years Morey has done just that. He has acquired a lot of assets, but nothing else. So until this organization has a clear path you will continue to get the results that you have. Last year this team played as a team because there were no so called superstars. They played within the offense and played GREAT team ball... But the minute the organization decided to build around Yao, was the moment they killed this team. It's been stated before in a lot of threads and I have said this before Morey has to take blame for this crap. Players are playing but they don't know their roles and the scrappy type of players have all been traded away for players that fit around Yao and now that Yao is not here... You have one big mess.. So trading Brooks, Lowry or any one for a band-aid fix is not going to fix anything at all.. First the organization needs to figure out a direction they are going to go in and then get the players to fit that direction. Right now you have a team that runs and half team that plays half court. So if you guys want to trade someone look at management first. T_Man
We would be at .500 or so if we just had a healthy Brooks shooting in the 40s and averaging 17 a game. That's without adding anything in the middle or adding any other go-to scorers. Think about that for a minute. We are outscoring teams when we win. It's only a rare occasion, like against the lowly Clippers, that we actually look like we can defend. But look who we got for scorers. Martin, Scola, and a bunch of role players. Bud has been MIA for everything except 4 or 5 games this season. Brooks has been injured for a significant portion of the season and now that he's back, he's still not playing up to par, one game great and then he lays 2 or 3 eggs. Everybody else is role players, not even serious offensive threats alone. They are getting it done offensively by working Adelman's passing/cutting offense. Brooks is not really a true down the stretch go to scorer. He's simply too small for that role. But he is a significant scorer that if he simply got 17-18 points a night, this team would be at .500 and maybe over .500. Last night's game a pefect example, if he hits 5 for 10 instead of 2 for 10, we're at even and likely victorious. You put a closer on this team and we are 5-8 playoff seed. You put a legit big man that can defend the paint alongside a closer on this team and go to war with Martin and whatever you have left, and we are fighting for a birth in the Finals.
Do NOT trade Brooks He's too good of a scorer, and we can use his speed. To say you wanna trade last years MIP just becuase he's trying to find a groove after a Yao ming like injury..that's not even rational. Just wait, be patient.
then of course we trade him. I don't know any other reason for you to ask that desperate question except for you to see the words "yes trade him" in this thread. There they are for you..
He's a good scorer, but more suited for a bench role. It's doubtful he'd accept this role and so he's more useful to us as a trade chip.
if he doesn't want to accept any role thats best for the team then of course, we should let him go. Sometimes he does have Ego problems but they're not a cause for locker room disruption as far as I can see.
