or G-Wallace, or Granger, or Iggy ... package Brooks/Battier/scrubs for one of those guys and start Lowry at PG.
when brooks goes off--"OMG Brooks is AMAZING! I love this guy"-When he has a bad game--"TRADE his small ass!"...seriously, we need to not just keep wanting to trade everyone after they have an off night. After the Mavs preseason, people were saying to trade CLEe lol...we gotta relax and let this team start meshing together. Im sure the defense will start to show, but obviously i must agree that its pathetic as of now and that RA should take advantage of these two games to show our guys how much we need to improve on it.
as much as i like Brooks and everything i have to agree that we may have to trade him. i like Martin because he is quick and could finish shots even if he is fouled. he is a great free throw shooter and has good shooting range. i would rather see Kyle Lowry in the back court with Martin. I would also wish we can get Carmelo Anthony if possible. it would also be nice if they could let Yao Ming play in back 2 back games even if he doesn't play much.
Why does everyone keep screaming for K-Low? I mean, I thought this team was DEEP? We're suppose to still be able to win games even if we have one guy go down. Right? Is that not what we all said? Now, we're all clinging on to one guy. I'm not saying Kyle wouldn't help us, but what happened to the confidence of a "deep bench". Is reality setting in for some folks?
Brooks just isn't that good of a player. He is totally 1 dimensional, when he is not scoring, he is useless and a detriment to the team. Stephen Curry is easily better than Brooks already.
Brooks is who he is. That is, he's not a franchise player, or does he mean 10 more wins for the Rockets, but he isn't useless or a detriment to the team.
So now that Brooks has proven he is a pretty good floor general, and has a very nice assist to turnover ratio, folks want to trade him. Not to mention as poor as he played last night, it wasn't his man that was the problem. Ah, Clutchfans..gotta love it. DD
A dead carcass is a better version of Mike James. As for Brooks Lowry equal injury ready to happen. Ish is worse than brooks. SO you have to trade Brooks for at a minimum a better defensive replacement that is not injury prone and shoots better than Ish. Find that guy and I say okay make the trade. I agree Billups is the perfect replacement but the cost is high and the dividends or for only 2 years at best. Still Billups makes us a championship team, maybe. I can't think of anyone else. Arenas might be a better player option if you can handle he is the middle of a mental breakdown. The Wizards would dump him in a hearrtbeat for brooks. WHo else would give us a better point guard for Brooks. Why would they do it? CP3 for Brooks, yeah that is the answer. Brooks and 3 first round picks, Jeffries + either Hill, Bud or PPat. That's not a bad deal. If the Knicks start to suck that deal looks better. That isn't a bad deal NO's gets 3 consecutive firstts from us. 2 of which or from NY plus a young decent replacement for CP3 and another young prospect and a 1 year filler. Some may think tthat is a lot but I feel we still get the best of that deal. I think the Hornets might seriously consider that deal if they start losing and CP3 starts crying trade me again. Make it happen.
This has been done before.. please come back when you have something important to add to the conversation.
I like Brooks, but we need another star on this team. If trading Brooks gets us CP3 or Melo I think you have to do it. Even if it means Iggy you do it. If not for a star than you better be getting his replacement who is overall better but that is a scary proposition. The vet may not last very long and brooks could be the next cassell who haunts us for years to come.
I'm going to give it a couple more games before I call for a trade, but to me, Brooks has been a big part of the losses on both nights. On both nights when the opponent was beginning to pull away and/or get hot, their offense always seemed to get started with an Aaron Brooks missed three that he shot with 18 seconds left on the shot clock. The defense was another thing and it was more of a problem last night than the night before. He bit on just about every pump fake. I guess it can be chalked up to trying to be more aggressive on defense, but it doesn't make it any less frustrating.
My vote is, obviously, trading for Billups down the road. I don't want to turn this into a random trade thread but the upside is obvious and as great as AB can be on offense, his defense is a major concern. Billups would upgrade your defense by leaps and bounds and he isn't even the defensive player he once was. He doesn't get rattled and will calm the team down during runs made by the other team. Out of all the possible trade, Billups is the most likely because of Melo leaving and what the Nuggets might want in return.
Billups would have been torched by both Curry and Ellis, you guys need to watch him play more often, his quickness is nearly gone.... He is their version of Shane Battier. He is NOT the answer you are looking for. DD
Its not about last night, it's about the full season. Honestly, VERY few pguards stop Curry or Ellis last night but AB has proven he can't guard 90% of the pguards in the league. I do watch Billups quite a bit and last night he played Deron Williams to a stand still, arguably the best pguard in the league. Not saying Billups is a defensive monster but is an UPGRADE defensively and equal on offense with a reasonable contract.
DWill is not a quickness guy though, he is quick enough, but he is not Ellis and Curry quick. Billups can not stay in front of quicker players any longer...... He is not the answer, he would not make the Rockets appreciably better, and he is 34 years old..... DD
True but I how many guards are as quick as Curry and Ellis, most of the new breed of pguard are bigger, stronger and more physical. I rather have Billups control 50% of the league's pguards then Brooks, who will get smoked by both styles of guards.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AoErIy9b7UPPAhtPcmRL9Oy8vLYF?slug=mc-anthonynuggets102810 This new article came out. Cliff notes version, Melo finally made it public he wants out by saying "it's time for change". He said he doesn't want to play on a team that has to gut itself to trade for him so that rules out the Nets. The Knicks don't have the assets and the Bulls aren't trading Noah. Morey, get on this ASAP!
Another idiotic anti-aaron brooks thread. The team has had consecutive bad games defensivley, but yet Brooks takes the blame. Monti Ellis litup everybody who guarded him last nite. Brooks has played two straight games with very little rest, I imagine his legs are tired. Matching up with a player like Ellis, on the 2nd night of a back to back, with virtually no backup is alot. So now you wanna trade him? For who I may ask? Kirk Hinrich Give the man a break...........
