Why do I have to care what type of PG Adelman has used? As long as that PG is making the plays, he should have the play making capability. Otherwise, hand the task to somebody else. Who is being clueless?
Because Adelman has always preferred PGs EXACTLY like Brooks, you are obviously clueless about adelman's offense. It is not designed for PGs to make plays, it is designed for the entire team to make plays, PGs in his system rarely lead the team in assists.
Through the first two games, Brooks has had some serious mental lapses. Against the Lakers, he failed to recognize Blake as a shooter and should have been in his "hip pocket" or atleast within 5 feet of him after he nailed that first WIDE OPEN three but allowed him to shoot 2 more wide open ones. Tonight he straight dribbled the ball of his leg at a critical point of the game, not only should an NBA player make such an amateur mistake but to do it as a starting NBA POINT GUARD makes it even worse! I'm not advocating trading the guy but I'm getting the feeling he's getting too comfortable with his strong sense of having "job security" with no one behind him really pushing him. I hope when Lowry comes back he'll clean up some of his mistakes especially just the effort on the defensive end knowing that Kyle can come in for him at any moment.
so you want brooks to score, facilitate, and play great defense. if you want to point fingers point them at battier because he is being torched, and he is only asked to play DEFENSE. there hasnt been a lock down point in the league since Gary Payton in his prime. theres a reason why 18 of the last 20 defensive player of the year awards have gone to centers/forwards. the league has changed defense starts from inside out, without yao's presence there are no interior defenders. brad miller was brought in because he knows the system. they knew he can't block shots or rebound, hes too slow.
Problem with AB, that I can see, is that the guy has some major lapses from time to time and loses his cool. He also a MAJOR defensive liability that more and more teams will exploit and on nights where he isn't hitting his shots, that will be an issue. Lowry and AB complement each other very well and the team will be better off when Kyle gets back.
What were those 9 assists against the Lakers then? The Rockets scored 130 points tonight, offense is clearly not the problem. Again, Adelman's system is for everyone to make the plays, not the PGs, particularly Big Men
Why not?! He is an injury prone. We need a healthy backup PG. An 6M backup PG is always injured. You think we didn't overpay him?!
The bolded is key. Both players look bad without the other And people keep forgetting, Brooks is playing almost the entire game handling the ball, the most exhausting thing on the court to do. He is by no means a good defender, but being exhausted makes him look even worse right now
why cant anyone on this board accept the fact that they just got lucky with their jumpshots, if a shooter is hot, NOBODY CAN STOP THEM, you just have to wait for them to cool off, unfortunately every jumpshot was falling for them, I bet next time we play them it wont be the case
Did you watch the game or did you just look at the stats? Did you see brooks was running around cluelessly in the 4th qtr?
