IMO this is Brooks worst stretch as a pro. I hope it's because his injury is still bothering him a bit. It would be beyond disappointing if his poor play was due to pouting.
Why sell at all if we have to sell low? If they dont want to give anything for him? Then we should just keep him by signing for less now that he is hurting his own value. Sell for a decent price or sign him for a decent price. Either way no need to give any team Brooks unless they are reasonable about a player who averages more than 16 points when he is starting. Either way we dont lose anything by keeping him for lower than expected now.
Thing is, there is always a chance that Brooks had a Mike James season. If he does, then his stock could only continue to fall. I would hate to be in Morey's shoes. If Brooks stock does fall low enough, we could offer him a sizable contract, but there is always a chance some irrelevant team (like the Cavs) will offer a ridiculous contract to him, and we'll be forced to let him walk.
I reckon Brooks shouldn't play at all. After his ankle injury his speed has reduced almost every aspect of his game has reduced. I think Brooks should just take a few months off and come back when his 100% right now he's not playing at the level that is expected from him.
