Adding to the cluster (&*%&S) of Bonzi Threads is this: TRADE BONZI NOW! I know, we've all been seduced into believing that this time around we'll have the Bonzi we thought we stole, who had fallen into our lap. Even if we do it's likely he'll be one and done, gone to 'greener' pastures. Bonzi is motivated to earn one last decent (by NBA standards but WOWSERS for us mere mortals) contract and why not let him put our Rox over the top? Bonzi has been saying all the right things, is in game shape and, yet, is Roger Clemens in disguise. Or is that Shaq? Maybe Late-in-the-year BigShotBob? Somehow, Bonzi doesn't 'awaken' til the fat lady is doing her warm up scales. He doesn't want to be part of the show til the last act. Riles has desperately tried to get everyone to South Beach and succeeded with just Smush Parker. Let Shaq's infamous locker room control take Bonzi under his enormous wing. Georgie, maniacal Georgie, has wanted him in Denver. Let Karl add Wells to that mix. Oddly, both need a Point. Hmmm, could there be something in the air? Even if not, cast Bonzi aside and get something for him. Let Snyder or Stevie or someone reliable, if less talented, take those minutes. Let Riles or Georgie or someone take those headaches.
Give Adelman a chance to see who fits and who doesn't, I am sure they will be moving pieces after they settle on a rotation they are comfortable with.... DD
Houston Trades: Bonzi Wells, Rafer Alston Miami Trades: Udonis Haslem Houston Trades: Bonzi Wells, Rafer Alston, Steve Novak, Justin Reed, Kirk Snyder Denver Trades: Marcus Camby I don't see why Miami or Denver do the trade. I don't see why Houston trades Bonzi for relative chump change (i.e. a scrub player and a 2nd round draft choice), UNLESS he is really injured for the foreseable future. I'd rather just stick with a contract year Bonzi.
Houston Trades: Bonzi Wells Miami Trades: A steaming pile of dung Both teams receive a piece of @@@@.
trade bonzi for what? We aren't getting anything good for him. We might be able to get something at the trade deadline if he plays awesome, but since he's on a one year rental deal, we probly wouldn't be getting much even in that scenario. I'd rather keep him for potential playoff matchups than give him away for peanuts, even if it is just for a year.
He has to get healthy to play. to play awesome. Trade him 'on the come'. How? OK, try this: Bonzi - Doleac + #1 Then, Rafer + Doleac - Collins for #1 a #2. Then, whenever the 1s and 2 come due there are assets to be had. Two roster slots are opened now, leaving 2 cuts + Sura. Probably buy-out Collins, leaving just one more cut. Salary options are slightly improved. It's easy when you say it fast, and from afar.
you aren't going to get 1st rounders for bonzi and rafer. It would be a lot more simple if that was the case.
Bonzi ain't going anywhere. Man hasn't even played a game and we already got people posting trade Bonzi. Please!
Murph... here is how your post should have read. Bonzi should be gone. Man hasn't played very many games since he's been here, he's gone on bullsheet leaves of absence, took himself off the roster last year, hasn't gotten in to shape since he's been here, hasn't made it through a full training camp yet, admitted he loafed because he didn't get paid what he though he was worth and we've already got people thinking Bonzi's turning over a new leaf.
As for me: leave Bonzi. That's probably nothing serious. Just live him and let him "fly" under Adelman...That's all. I know most of you don't wanna keep Bonzi for one more year but I do. I really belive he'll help us. That's only my opinion.
I know a certain championship team a few hours west of houston that would love nothing more to see the rockets trade Bonzi. Bonzi is the one player the Spurs absolutely do not match up with and this new rocket head coach knows it. If the rockets want to get out of the west at some point that road will lead through San Antonio. So why the campaign to get rid of Bonzi?
terrible idea. he has very low trade value at this point. also, for the little amount that he is getting paid, the upside is tremendous. he is in shape (though his groin is hurt) and playing for a coach that he likes and in a system where he played well.
Why would you worry about matching up with someone who can't get in shape enough to get on the court to play?
We would have nothing for Bonzi right now so that's terrible idea to trade him. If we could sing better player I would agree but... SO now we are stuck with Bonzi and for me that's not the worst news.
Who said that he isn't in shape and hasn't it been reported that he lost 35 lbs. Just look at some of the pictures and quit hating. You apparently have never had a groin injury before.
