If you haven't seen him play this year SHUT THE HE** UP ABOUT HIM THEN!!! Refrain from any comments about the trade until you see what the guy(s) add to the team. This is just very stupid of people. Whining Whining Whining... Bonzi this and Bonzi that. I'm so sick of hearing all the whining about a guy that played 15 mins a game for us and avg 8 pts 4 rebs. B Jax please hurry up and come drop some 3's and crossovers on these fools so they can ALL eat their words about the trade.

I really don't know what to make of this trade. There are good points and bad points.

James is dead weight for us and had to be gone. No question asked.

Bonzi will be missed in the playoffs. But he has never been the long term solution. If he played well, he would demand a big contract and I doubt the Rockets would sign him. If he played poorly, well what's his use? So it was just a one year rental for cheap. If Bonzi could help us win a championship this year, then this trade sucks. If not, nothing to cry about it. I guess we will never know.

Getting Jackson is not ideal. What can he do at this point of his career? Will he be better than Brooks? We'll see. For the future, it's good that we have his expiring contract next year. So I can see that this is more of a setup move for the future, sort of the opposite of the "win-now" mode last year.

Anyways, I am glad that they didn't trade any of the three rookies, especially Scola and Landry. This team is build for the next three or four years with Yao and T-Mac still in their prime.

And I am glad that we didn't sell our soul to get Artest. Not getting Mike Miller is a disappointment though.

They way I look at it, it obviously helps our future. And by adding a veteran PG familiar with the system and freeing up salary we can potentially benefit this year as well. I don't think the loss of Bonzi Wells is really that big a deal. He was improving on his finishes, but there was still the issue of all those blown free throws and defensive assignments. That could just as easily have been a liability for us in the playoffs.

PF and PG were two weakness last year.
At PG, Rafer is playing better, thank God, but will he keep it up or what if he gets injured? Brooks is not the answer for now.
At PF, Luis and Carl are our future, need play time. And they are amazing now.
I love Bonzi, but its time to give him up. Great move.

AND....there was no guarantee that Bonzi was re-signing with the Rockets. He was a free agrent and since he was getting fazed out of playing time because of Landry and Scola, why not get a need for the team in return?

I hate giving him to NO but...oh well

There goes the team chemistry. Also, Jackson is going to end up dead in that locker room. T-Mac will knock the **** out of him. Oh well... He's not much help alive anyways.

Does James get paid more each time he's traded? That may be his ploy...play so bad the they trade you. That also may explain his big smile.

Bonzi has his problems. But he also has value, or else he wouldn't have been in Adelman's rotation.

I guess we'll have to hold our judgment for now how much Bobby Jackson can help this year. Neither Jackson nor Wells has any long term future for us.

If for nothing, getting rid of Mike James and his contract is definitely a good thing in this trade. Addition by subtraction.

Bobby Jackson is better than Luther and can be a backup PG/SG but is he going to be enough to offset the loss of Bonzi?

I think BJ will bring some solid D at the 1. I think its a low risk trade and the $$$ will help us out in the off season. Rox will be very solid team in 08-09.

im not the kind of person that suspects things but does any body else have a feeling that the tmac chemistry had to do with bonzi and james leaving? bc its obvious that bonzi is a better and more impact player then jackson..
