I think somehow, in some way Landry is going to get more action. He is getting about 12 mins a night right now and after the trade we are going to need his scoring and rebounding down low so I see him getting about 20 mins playing a variety of different positions.

I think Scola's minutes will go up as well. Rafer's mins will go down and I can see Yao's minutes coming back down to about 33-35. Brooks falls out of the rotation all together

Why do you care what I think? I have no credibility according to you, the basketball genius.

I respect your post! But Ed Wade is not a Great GM by any standard. He traded away the farm for a marginal Valverde (Ive watched him ALOT he isnt that good, stats deceive) Bourne is a hell of a chance, he might suck for all any of us know. and Tejada? dont get me started.

Brooksball, it must be your dream come true, huh? A chance to shine your bright rays of happiness on all of us when we're all down. And on a sticky thread, no less!

So you think Scola will get more minutes and Landry will get more minutes and Yao and Rafer will get less?

I don't see how that makes us better. Landry and Scola taking minutes from Yao isn't an upgrade and wouldn't be in anyway related to losing Bonzi.

If you watched the rockets you'd know that the majority of his shots are going to come from beyond the arc. The offense does not run through the Pg. It runs through Tracy and Yao and teams collapse the paitn against those guys and leave jump shooters wide open. If you take all the open jumpers Bonzi misses and take half of the ones Brooks misses and convert them in to buckets, our PPG average would probably go up atleast 3 points.

jVgOwnsYou went from decent ideas to a blabbering fool thinking POWER FORWARDS will take a GAURD/SFs MINUTES.

So is Head's. At least Bonzi could provide some value in defense.

Please don't try to argue that Head is a better overall defender than Bonzi.

Head is always being forced to guard bigger players since he can't play the point.

Ok. One great GM (Smith). One good GM (Morey) and one GM who the jury is still out on. I liked Wade's moves for a team that was going nowhere fast, but that shouldn't be discussed in a Rocket thread.

I am expressing how I feel. Tough if you don't like it.

Well my thinking is that Yao should not be playing 40 mins a night. He takes a beating down low and you can't expect him to be fresh for the playoffs when hes carrying that kind of load night in and night out.

I have not always agreed with Brooksball in the past, but I think he's nailed it here. What Wells does cannot be replaced by Head/Jackson. This trade makes the team weaker for the moment. I hope there's another one on the way.

So you were just blowing smoke when you said this trade would get Landry more minutes then?

I think that in todays NBA you can experiment more with rotations because of the rule changes.....

Shawn Marion a guy that weighs about 220 soaking wet started for the best team in the west as a PF.

Why would it be strange to see landry play minutes at SF? He's 6 8 with good length and quickness and he can do things away from the basket on offense.

Marion was a freak. Amazing athleticism and speed. Landry does not have Marion's physical gifts.

No, I don't see how Yao playing less means Landry plays less?

You said this deal will allow Landry to get more minutes. The two aren't related at all.

Landry is a gifted athlete too. He's not your typical PF. He has enough quickness and explosiveness to play away from the basket and his handle is alot better than most people think.
