I don't care if you eat cow. That does nothing for me. I'd rather see the Rockets make the playoffs and that just became ALOT harder.

I'm not saying we don't have a chance. I'm just saying we don't have an appreciably better chance with Bonzi than Jackson. We may have lost a little bit, but not enough to make a difference this year. The up side is that we gained some flexibility we weren't going to have for 2 more years with James' on the books. Bonzi is not the difference maker on this team. We are a good team when Yao and McGrady are healthy and with the additions of Scola and Landry into the rotation. I think Bonzi is a contributor and I would not make this trade straight up for Jackson, but getting rid of James' contract was just too good to pass up.

Only a few short hours left...and I think we're staying with Bobby Jax...If I ever catch Les or Morey in public, it's not gonna be pretty.

I just stepped in to say that Les Alexander has lost about 300 million dollars of net worth in the bond market this year. The chump change involved in in this deal wouldn't make the slightest impact on his personal finances.

Morey runs the team and every salary issue is about flexibility under the cap.
(other than The Clippers anyway) Personal attacks on Les accusing him of being "cheap" are naive (Clutch)

If The Rockets get into the playoffs, Gawen DeAngelo would have been matching up with the other teams second unit. You could afford to just foul him every time he started to the hole cause he wasn't going to hit 50% from the line.

Morey hasn't been in charge a year yet but he's shown he isn't afreaid to spend money or make a move. I don't really understand the trade but, he hasn't called me to explain his thinking yet.

Will Bonzi feel betrayed by Adelman? After all it is because Rick Bonzi decided to come back this season.

Will be interesting to see Bonzi's reaction for this trade..

I think there is no doubt that Aaron falls out of the rotation and takes on kind of a Chuck Hayes situational role. If the matchup is right and if all else fails, you will see Brooks, and that's how it should be.

He obviously has potential with his speed and quickness, but his deficiencies are too glaring to ignore.

Jackson will come in and be a solid backup to Rafer.

If that's the case, why continue sticking to Brooks and unwilling to send him to Sac for Artest?

I think Rockets are still high on him, BJ may occupy some SG minutes

Good post. I completely agree. This is not about Les' money, it is about future flexibility. Bonzi may be a little bit better than Jackson, but getting rid of James' contract will pay dividends in the future.

RTerry I respect your opinion but allow me to rebuke this. Bonzi WAS the difference maker on this team and his impact will be shown when we play without him. He was an offensive rebounder, defensive rebounder, big punishing guard/forward that attacked the rim and we DID lose something that will make a difference THIS year.

    Bonzi Rebounded: BJac cant.
Bonzi created mis-matches: BJac creates more mis-matches that HURT us.
Bonzi was our only SG: BJac is the 3rd tiny guard we have on this squad.
Bonzi was our 6th man: Who can fill that role? BJac? I remember seeing DNP-CD next to his name for a majority of this season.
James and BJac shot similar numbers from the field: James FG%0.350 BJac: 0.392 James 3pt: 0.324 Bjac 3pt: 0.368

WE DIDNT IMPROVE, WE SAVE MONEY. DAMN YOU LES YOU CHEAP FOOL.

What a dumb move... other than the luxury tax, there's no good oncourt reason to do this.

Further, it's not about which player is "better". It's about value added to the team. We have guys to fill in for the loss of Bonzi (whether they do so more or less effectively remains to be seen). Jackson was brought in to fill in a more pressing need, which was backup PG.

I think it remains to be seen if this helps or hurts us this year. Let's just wait and see how things play out.

Its a good thing the whole lot of you aren't GM's. Next season, when we are able to get a Mike Miller or an Artest type player because of this move I want all of ya'll detractors to be accounted for.
