Wtf kind of trade is this? Bonzi saved our ass several times this year...

I hope there arent chemistry issues as well, see below.

The savings is now where they managed to get under luxury tax and in two years time not having Mike James's extra year on his contract.

After this season the Rockets will have around 400k more on their team salary than before this trade happened. That's the difference between Jackson's and James's salaries for next season.

I am still pissed about this trade. Management needs to make a decision and stick with it. If you want to win, then make moves to win. If you want to cut salary and be a cheapo, then just be a man and do that and don't try to fool people into thinking you are serious about winning. From a PURELY BASKETBALL perspective, I don't see how trading a big wingman that can get to the rack and the line for a 35 yr old, 30% shooting midget guard helps you. When T-Mac sits (or gets injured again, good chance), we now have no reliable size on the perimiter. I can understand not wanting to hand the keys to Brooks...but that doesn't mean you get a old midget guard who can't shoot or stay healthy!!!!! And I won't even mention helping a conference rival (didn't we all scold the Spurs this summer when they gave us Scola for nothing...and they are a title winning team).

I have attended my last game this season…the one where the dude proposed thinking ol girl would say yes and she dissed him. That's how I feel right about now….believing the team was really trying to win when the owner cares more about saving money. If he can half-ass it then I can watch the games on TV and do the same....

How long ago was this? That isn't even an issue. Bobby Jackson can still play. He was the 4th quarter guy when the Kings has Jason Williams running the show. This guy has game.

Notice who he high fives at the end of that play. CHRIS PAUL. Bobby Jackson is SHOOTING guard. A small one at that. What the hell.

You have to understand...Ok we lose Bonzi, but that means more playing time for Head, Landry, Scola....Then you add a veteran PG who can shoot the 3 with confidence. AND THEN you are able to dump James contract. What is not to like?

This is not about just losing Bonzi. You have to look at it with a deeper perspective.....Same goes for the Phoenix trade for Shaq....Yeh, they got O'neal, but they also give up an outstanding defender om Marion which forces them to play Diaw more and their defense suffers big time......3-3 since the trade.

Yeah, he always managed to light up the Rockets somehow. I guess it's better to have him on our side...

So do those fat cats in the NBA office open after noon or something? They should hurry up with the approval. I want to know if the Rockets gave up a second round pick or the draft rights to Malik Badiane to the Grizzlies.

How would the Rockets play if Alston got hurt and they hadn't made this deal?

This is a horrible deal..mainly because of timing. The Rockets are in the verge of winning 10 straight and barely in the play-offs. Denver and Houston tied. Golden State won yest, only .5 games behind. I certainly hope this doesn't mess up the team's chemistry. REALLY REALLY BAD TIMING. And if this is a multi-team deal for Artest, its even worse. That would mean changing out our roster even more and that would definitely mess up our chemistry. I don't understand this deal. Why now???? Rockets are playing so well!! Why did Les have to mess it all up to save money. Horrible ownership!!

If this trade is followed by a trade for Artest or Miller, then I will call this Win-Win, but right now it hurts the team as a whole. Jackson is barely better than James and even that is debatable, despite MJ being relegated to the bench. People underestimate James, who has playoff experience with T-Mac and Yao against Dallas.

The way the team has been playing the past month, this looks like a knee-jerk, luxury tax saving manuever and nothing more.

Agreed. I love this move. While our little run has been great, most of our victories have been against sub .500 teams. And we have been very painful to watch in the 4th quarter. I truly believe that Jackson will be a major factor for us down the stretch....plus it gets rid of Mike James(who?) and his contract.

Why do people keep saying that Bonzi leaving gives more playing time for Scola and Landry? They play different positions! Neither have the quickness to play the three and they sure as heck can't play the two. And if Adelman was risky enough to play them at those positions, you are then taking fouls and rotation time away that are currently being used to relieve Yao.

Basically Bobby Jackson will take Brooks' minutes and Luther Head will try to fill the shoes of Bonzi. I like Luther, but he's more situational. He gives up size.

We lose depth and gain some assurance at back up point guard. I think Brooks may have struggled in the playoffs, but so can Bobby.

What about Bonzi's toughness, leadership and rebounding? Who is going to replace that?
