Trade: Bonzi, James for Bobby Jackson? (UPDATE: Done Deal)

No chance IMO. It's probably R.Butler,NO has been trying to get rid of him for a long time.

 

I'm for the trade.

I like Bonzi. I like the fact he drives to the basket a lot. The problem is he shows up once every 4 games or so. I don't think a team can win a title with him as a key role player. Rockets need players at Bonzi's size that can shoot.

Mike James is a zero.

Bobby Jackson is a tough, gritty player that can make shots. He'll bring playoff experience that our point guards don't currently have that much of.

This is not a bad trade for the Rockets.

The combined salaries for BJ and RB are 22.6 mil

The combined salaries for BW and MJ 20.4 mil

Doesn't make sense at all.

Clearly not all in one trade, but possible (not real). It does tie all of todays rumors together in one neat bow.

Why would each team do it?

Sac gets Brooks
Memphis sheds huge contracts (+$10MM)
NO gets rid of Butler and aging Jackson
Houston obvious.......LOL!!!!!

Mike James: 5.63+6.05+6.47=18.15M

Bonzi Wells: 2.28M

Total :20.43M

incoming players:

Bobby Jackson: 5.67+6.09=11.76M

Rasual Butler: 3.32+3.63+3.95=10.90M

Total: 22.66M

 

somehow, I don't believe this trade to be as close as is reported. If it were, I doubt Bobby would be playing tonight.

I totally agree with this.

I think Bobby makes a good tradeable asset next year. Also, this trade may be done to free up Brooks for another (bigger) trade. I don't want to lose Bonzi, but if we're going to end up with a better player after another trade then let's do it.

 

You really don't want this Bobby jackson 2.20.08,He ain't the same as he once was.

 

GM's are on the phone right now working out deals.....none of the deals are official yet so it would make any sense to sit anyone.

 

Bobby Jax flourished under RA...mj's contract gets gone. Sure, it makes sense. It doesn't/wouldn't put Rox over the top but it makes real sense.

 

Unless this trade is a move necessary for another trade, I'm all against it. Bonzi is bigger at the SG than Jackson (6'5 to 6'1) and provides more of a penetrating scoring threat that this team needs. He is also a better passer, MUCH better rebounder, and younger.

Jackson is putting Raferesque numbers this yr (37% FG, 35 % 3pt line)- not exactly a scorer or a shooter.

 

My guess is Snyder is included and bought out, perhaps with Rox $s.

I agree that I really don't want this trade to go through. Bonzi is pretty productive and drives to the basket a lot, something that I know that Butler and Jackson don't really do at all...they're just shooters and that's it. Plus, we're playing really well and have good chemistry building, that unless we do end up getting Miller or Artest, we should definitely pass on this trade.
