    Not a bad trade indeed. Mike James is a non-factor and Bonzi cant make us a contender. So we need this salary dump to make us better in the long run.

    Actually, Jackson > James or Brooks at the moment. Our point position is better.
    The only negative is getting rid of Bonzi....except if there's another trade

    Artest or Miller would mean Bonzi is expendable anyway. I'm betting on one of the two by 3 PM EST.

    while bonzi is a loss, lets look at what we got, a backup pg who will actually play instead of mike james sitting. what im worried about is how this will affect our chemistry and our win streak

    I'm guessing they're trading him via the minimum salary exception, ie they don't have to take back salary.

    This small move with Memphis definately gets the rockets under luxury tax. It would be around 669k under luxury tax.

    Brent Barry for a prorated vet's min would cost maybe 500k or even less. Barry Barry Barry please!

    Howard had an albatross contract. And Mike James had a contract which was bigger than the Rockets ever intended to give him - he had like 12 or 13 million dollars left on that contract.

    Now you get Bobby Jackson who know Adelman's system and has only 1 year left on his contract.


    Jackson (1 albatross year left) for James (2 albatross years left) for Juwan (3 or so albatross years left) is a deal I do any day of the year.

    Getting rid of Bonzi SUX!!!! Bonzi is going to make the Hornets that much more meaningful. He is a solid bench performer!!! The Hornets have a solid guard/forward bench guy. Gesh!!! :mad:

    maaan i dont like this trade!! all the guys liked bonzi plus he was a looker room guy. i would have been happy if it was kirk in stead of bonzi. do you guys think we can sign bonzi next year? ;) ;)
