Trade: Bonzi, James for Bobby Jackson? (UPDATE: Done Deal)

as it has been said, this is def a way to dump contracts and free up space to sign our main component: either ron artest or mike miller. i'm really looking forward to seeing what morey has up his sleeve! i nba have league pass, and i tuned into the memphis game and mike miller was held out of tonight's game in LA. i think this is a sign that his fate is sealed, let's just hope he is coming to the rockets

 

No way Bonzi is traded. He's part of the reason why we've become such a good rebounding team. Rebounding > 3 point shooting.

I would do Mike James for Bobby Jackson straightup, though (although anyone would).A no risk trade as James does nothing but sulk on our bench anyways.

If this happens, it ****ing well better not just be to dump salary. I hope to god it would just be a prequel to another trade, because otherwise we are basically giving away our depth and helping to improve an already-strong division rival. Garbage.

 

Now that would be really interesting. Effectively, it's a swap of Brooks/Bonzi+salary for Jackson/Artest. I hate to lose Brooks, but that is tempting.

The Rockets reached agreement on a deal that will send Bonzi Wells and Mike James to New Orleans to get guard Bobby Jackson, individuals with knowledge of the talks said.

The deal, which has grown to include minor involvement of the Memphis Grizzlies, is pending league approval, with a conference call is scheduled for today for the NBA to review the trade.

The Rockets will make the move to add Jackson as a veteran point guard to play behind Rafer Alston, sending Wells to the first-place Hornets while getting New Orleans to take on the two seasons and $12.7 million remaining on James' contract after this season.

Jackson is signed for $6.1 million through next season, potentially offering the Rockets the roster flexibility they did not have this season.

The Rockets will also receive rookie guard Adam Haluska and either their own or New Orleans' second-round pick, whichever is greater. They had previously been sending next season's second-round pick to Seattle to complete the trade for the pick they used to draft Carl Landry in the 2007 Draft.
