for some odd reason, i secretly wish Mark Cuban to be the boss of this team. He is a biatch but he loves and cares about winning and he is willing to spend to get to the promising land

Yes, the reactionaries and nay-sayers here are WAAAY undervaluing the utility of getting rid of MJ's contract. That will help us a lot in future years and it shows shortsightedness on the part of the people here to characterize planning for the future as "a salary dump to save money".

Another money saving move. Nothing else.I'm getting angry now. Bonzi may not be much better than B.Jackson but this is bad for us.We have 15 spots, can a 3 for 2 trade work even if both of the rookies are waived?

So If the deal goes through then you wont watch anymore of their games, right. That will make you a bandwagoner

Do you think the Miller deal could be a follow up to this?

Not really. We're never going to be under the cap enough to do anything significant with Yao/Tmac on the payroll.

Going by ESPN's trade machine salary numbers the Rockets would still need to cut around 18k to get under luxury tax.

I won't really help us as long as we still have two max players. We already traded a lott pick for a veteran to put us in a win now position. So if you are win now you don't make moves just to save some $$$, especially when the team has just won 9 straight.

ESPN/Truehoop a few weeks back reported 1.5M. This deal cuts around 1.33M going by the salary numbers used at NBA trade machine.

    Are you Morey?
Future years? what about this year?
If I am Yao and T-MAC, I'll demand a trade out of Rockets.

I seriously doubt that the Rockets cut Snyder and keep both scrubs from this trade. Actually, Kirk Snyder is capable of giving the team SOME (of course not all) of what Bonzi was giving them. Plus, with Luther Head back in the lineup, the team does not need Bonzi as much.

The Rockets' bench rotation would now look something like this:

    Bobby Jackson
    Luther Head
    Carl Landry
    Aaron Brooks
    Chuck Hayes

    Steve Novak
    Kirk Snyder
    Dikembe Mutombo
    Vinicius/Haluska (one will be waived)

    Steve Francis (injured)

Why would we trade one Adelman guy for another Adelman guy when the one we have is better?
