fyi, Bonzi did not have a good game in the Rockets loss at SA earlier this year.

He's not that important a player IMO.

I feel the same way plust I want to add is that the only reason why we are seeing Bonzi doing much better recently is because this is a contract year for him.. Of course he's gonna try to bring his game up a little. I do not want to resign Bonzi. I think he's going to be more lazy and really doesn't know his roll when T-mac and Yao are on the floor with him.

his presence in houston has coincided with wins where before the spurs just utterly dominated the rockets.

There can be addition by subtraction if it frees up room under the luxury tax this summer to sign a MLE player.

Unless we get Artest, this trade make us worse. Bonzi takes the ball to the rim, is a good rebounder, can create his own shot when Tracy is not on the court, has size. He brings so much and we cannot afford losing him. Mike are both shooting first pg and is off the bench. I do not see a big difference. Bobby has one year less but Mike may turn the things around late this season.

They're already just as good (if not better) than us right now. Bonzi doesn't make them that much better. Hell, they'd still be better than us without Bonzi AND Jackson.

We're not going to be "elite" unless T-mac can regain most of his scoring ability anyways.

Might as well add some bullets to the gun. Bonzi isn't going to thrive on a team with a dominant Yao, and T-mac.

that's regular season. Bonzi' is not a good enough difference maker to help the Rockets beat the Spurs in a best-of-seven, I don't care what he did in 06. The Kings still lost the series, and by 20 in their own building in Game 6.

You guys think we can compete in the playoffs with a rookie undersized backup PG?
    Good trade

BOBBY JACKSON IS NOT A PG...HE IS A 6'1 SG

HE SHOOTS 37% FROM THE FIELD FOR THE SEASON.

My first reaction to this RUMORED deal was utter shock but, the more I think about it, the more and more Ive warmed up to it.

Mike James is a zero on this team. Whether you think he can play or not is irrelevant. The fact is that he is an aging player with a big contract who is not getting ANY playing time what-so-ever. If you can get out of his contract sooner, you certainly put A LOT of looking into it.

I don't think Bonzi is a real big loss either. He has his moments but he is a pretty average player overall. I like Bonzi, I really do, but he is not too much of a loss to try to get out of James' idle contrac at the end of the bench. Hell, if they wanted a wing player who plays bigger inside, they can always go out and re-sign Mike Harris.

I know Jackson is not the same player he once was nor has he proven he can stay healthy the last few years. But, he is a winner, a veteran PG who has experienced winning in the playoffs and has a history of making shots when they matter. If he is always hurt or doesn't pan out, then what's the loss? James wasn't playing either. If he is healthy, he gives this team a HUGE insurance at the point and a winning presence in the locker room.

All that said, I agree with others in that there would have to be another deal somewhere to gain back depth at the wing.

Uhh... for the third or fourth time, I'm NOT in favor of the trade. I'm only contesting jeremyang on his claim that Mike James is apparently better than Bobby Jackson.

Yes, he IS a cancer. He complained THIS YEAR, even if it was only once or twice. A true professional and good locker-room guy doesn't ever go to the media complaining about his playing time. Not once. Mike James did.

Yes, again, something is better than nothing. SOME games with Bobby Jackson is better than James drawing a paycheck to warm the bench.

And, for the fifth time now, I'm not in favor of the trade. I'm only contesting your implication that James is better than Jackson.

He has his left leg all wrapped up and covered in a sock, too. He looks pretty old.

If this rumored trade goes through, I really hope it leads to another deal. Otherwise, losing our best perimeter player that penetrates consistently and finishes around the basket is not at all a good thing.

Meanwhile, CP3 has a small shot at a quad double tonight:

25 pts 10 ast 7 stl 4 reb with 1 quarter left in the game.

Hornets up 75-62 over Kidd and the Mavs after 3 quareters.

If Bonzi Wells is our "best" perimeter player in your eyes, we're not going to do much this season anyways.

This season still hinges on T-mac either regaining his scoring touch, or becoming simply a master play-maker with multiple offensive weapons around him that can spread the floor (and Bonzi doesn't really fit that mold).
