battier isn't the problem but if trading him can get us a legit center then i would do it.

He's the least desirable piece on the team -- aside from nerding up the locker room, giving awkward inspirational speeches, and high-fiving teammates, he's worthless.

It's not that he can't shoot, he simply won't shoot. He can't finish around the basket and he's ineffective cutting to the hoop.

He's solid fundamentally on the defensive end, but he doesn't have the agility, bulk, or stamina to lock down superstars like he did 2 years ago.

He's a locker room guy, and not much more.

You didn't answer my question. If we overrate our own players to hell. And we're bashing Battier... What makes you think any other team in their right minds would want Battier?

Anybody who thinks Battier is the reason why our defense sucks, is plain mentally challenged, for lack of a better word.

Our problem is we don't have a shotblocker who can intimidate the paint. Melo, Martin and Nene were getting buckets in the paint at will.

Plus, if I ever see Brooks, Martin and Budinger on the court at the same time, my head's gonna explode!

Battier, while obviously declining, is still one of the top 10 perimeter defenders in the league.

Dallas, Boston, Orlando, and pretty much every other contender who's looking to win now and need that defensive minded wing. MANY teams in the league still consider Battier an elite defender, even though we know better than that.... ;)

Aaron Brooks + Battier + Jeffries + pick for Gerald Wallace + Captain Stephen Jackson.

Battier has lost a step and its obvious. But he is still considered the best wing defender on our team. You guys are seeing what's happenning with Hayes out. It will be just twice as bad if we got rid of Batman.

I prefer to see T-Will step into Batmans role while Batman and Hayes take up 11th and 12th spots on our roster. We will need these two vets if we go young.

Courtney Lee's the best wing defender on the team, IMHO.

A clutch 24 year old 20 point scorer with athleticism and length would be a pretty good fit with our young players right now.

    Oh well :)

One defender really doesn't matter in an NBA game. it has to be a team effort if you want good Defense. Personally losing Battier wont matter if the team sucks on Defense.

I would only trade Battier in a package if it nets us a superstar or a defensive Center. Otherwise, i would rather have him here and nurture our youth. lolz

Yeah and Capt. Jack probably wouldn't like to come off the bench as well.
