Spineless? Wow. Does it really bother you that much? You know what's weird. Someone made a comment in the game thread about how benching battier could have worked last night. I agreed with them. Then Kwame praised them for their objectivity, but ignored my post that agreed with the poster's suggestion to bench Battier. Yesterday, i made comments about Battier in 3 threads. In 2 of them i acknowledge his bad play offensively. Guess which threads/comments Kwame conveniently ignored? Those 2. He wants to claim I think Battier can do no wrong, but he selectively skips and ignores those comments, then has the nerve to ask me to provide the evidence for him? A college student rarely goes to class. The few times he does he doesn't listen or leaves early, then at the end of the semester, he says it's on the teacher to bring him up to speed. Is that teacher "spineless" for not wanting to waste their time with one bad apple?
Trade him for what? He doesn't have any value right now. Maybe we get a package of gummy bears and Batum from Portland.
This is something that always stupified me, and it seems like Shane's mid-range jumper has severely diminished because of this. It seems like Adleman's team in general shoots a lot of 3's. I remember at the begining of last season the team was shooting a high percentage of 3-pointers and once that was changed, with Bud, Scola and Landry shooting mid-range jumper, the team seemed to turn it around and started blowing everyone's socks off. Shane shows a lot of flashes of what he can be but he has taken that backseat role as a defender first and spot up 3-point shooter second. He'll never be anything other those two roles but he remains the best defender on this team. With a guy like Lee, I'm not sure why the Rockets don't start him alongside Shane.
This is because they use him wrong on Offense...dude is a non athletic Leo Deng type of player...Put his non shooting azz on the low block and tell him to shoot that pathetic line drive hook he's mastered...From what ive seen in the past he's been partially effective....that sideline 3 **** aint workin no more....It seems like he hasnt worked on his offensive game since he left Duke....But he can be productive offensively if used correctly
Ugh, I just want Wilson Chandler or Grant Hill or someone like that on this team. Why don't they just bench Battier and make him sit out games to make him play harder.
He has been like this all season except for his marginally average performances against some teams we actually won against. The Brooks bashers should by that logic really miss this guy now with our record without him. i think two guys area problem we can win without. Battier and Martin. Two guys severely overrated if we had Brooks in the lineup instead of Martin and Battier. We could win more games by trading Martin and Battier to Charlotte for Gerald Wallace. A guy who plays both offense and defense.
I am a Battier fan. But tonight proves how desperately we need a consistent 2 way player on the wing. If he doesn't play as good as did we lose of course. If he could play like tonight every night he would be adequate. As good as he played most of the game in the end his lack of offense almost cost us the game.
people gonna act like durrant hasn't played poorly all season? not gonna rain on his parade so props to battier
Batman does it again! but the truth of the matter was that the team played good D, which allowed Batman to focus only on his. Alot of the crap Batman receives about loosing a step and such could be attributed to the teams lack of defense. It take a team to play D not just 1 man.
