You mean avoiding your issue. Incase you haven't noticed, out of the 10 times or so you've asked me, no one else has cared about it. No one is curious to find out. No one backs you up. No one gives you any credibility here anymore. You're pretty much nothing more here than a Battier-hater. John Stockton could register on here and he'd be more of a Rockets' fan than you have ever been. Sad, really.

Go ahead, reply again. Feel free to bring up the "issue" again also...

He still managed to get to the line 8 times, snag a whopping 14 boards from the wing, and sink a couple of crucial buckets down the stretch to seal a WIN for his team.

Fans are attacking Battier because the team he currently captains is 4-11 and sitting in the cellar of the division. He's been abysmal offensively, and he's failed to provide the consistent defense of years past due to noticeable physical limitations.

Crawl out from under Battier's skirt, and get a clue. This team's going nowhere fast, and the reevaluation of the rotation/allocation of PT seems like a reasonable route to take at this point.

Exactly. Battier gives us the best defensive option at that position. If we are already lacking at the positions around Battiers role, that spreads us even more thin. Perhaps play Bud at the 2 a little as you would think Buds length may make up for speed against the quicker 2's. I know Bud is about as good on defense as Steve novak but perhaps he could do a serviceable job against 2s.

I guess what I am trying to say is that we have no choice but to play Battier if we are going to have some balance on the defensive side.

People keep talking about not playing him or trading him but for what when he is one of the few defenders on the whole team. Especially at his position.

We are losing because we do not have a complete team still due to injury. I know its way old news to say that but again battier is a role player and always has been. He is still stopping people and is getting blocks and TOs. We desperately need that.

I do regret us not having ariza as we could probably have used his defense on the perimeter lately. I am just not feeling courtney lee. besides some more rebounding and block shots if we are going to trade, we need to trade for another lock down perimeter defender SF/SG. Not sure who, but that is something else we need besides Yao healthy. if Yao can stay then it's time to sell on Brooks since he cannot get the ball to Yao.

I dont know if the organization understands this, but seriously, even with Brooks n Yao returning, this team is still 1st round exit or most likely not even making the playoffs. Personally I think something is wrong with Adelman. He keeps playing Battier n Lowry in his offensive strategy. Lowry is 1 game wonder, shows up one game and chokes the other. He forces too many ridiculous shots and passes with like 3-4 seconds left for someone to jack up hard shots. Battier cant finish a freakin shot even if his life depended on it. Martin is too weak to take over a game and lead. Offense dont even run through him even though he can create a foul which is Adlemans fault for not getting him as much involved offensively. The only player that I have respect for and plays hard is Scola! He does his job and also got heart.

    If i was a coach:

Get Martin n Scola involved constantly offensively!!!!! He draws fouls and can finish most of the time. Make Martin n Scola the threat and create an image for the team leaders. Let them take 20-25 shots a game each. This team needs a leader without Yao. If opponents realizes them as a threat, other players will get involved and get open shots. Adelman is trying too hard to make it a balanced team but its not working. Run plays for Scola n Martin only and others will get good looks!

Silly fouls and wide open outside shots needs to be controlled. 1-2 or even 3 games you can blame on the players for such ridiculous defense, but constantly letting other teams get easy layups and wide open looks = coaches fault! If this continues then coach needs to be fired and replacement needs to strictly focus on defense and tweak some changes on offense like mentioned above.

Rockets has a great team, they are just not used to their full potential and not running plays using their strong points. Team is playing too unselfish.

Kwame makes several valid points. He might keep bringing up the same things over and over again, but it is no different than what the Battier apologists do, despite what it is clearly evident on the court right now: Battier's lack of production has been hurting this team.

Its concerning Battier can't hit an open shot from anywhere but in the corner.

But there are also numerous other problems, none of which are highlighted as much as this one.

The problem is that if Chase haven play well enough to take the SF job.

Shane should not be playing more that Chase and Lee but Chase hasn't done any better, and Adelamn is Scare to play Lee a the 3, and y think Lee have been defending the quicker players better than Chase and Battier so far and can hit the 3 plus attack and move without the ball.

Shane can give U some defense vs slow SF , he is still our best Shot Blocker without Yao in there. and along Yao he is the best post passer we got. The problem he haven't been able to hit the wide open 3, he is been so bad is painful to see.

I don't care but vs quick SF I will play Lee more. Shane will be useful when Yao com back because he is the best since T-Mac passing the ball to Yao download.

I remeber we use to go Aaron & Kyle on the back court, why not play Lee at the 3 a Little more he is been playing better of late.

What "points" did he bring up HERE? I only saw the same repetitive antagonism against posters, didnt see any discussion.

My post was not in reference to this thread. It was in response to his "credibility" which another poster was questioning. For example, If Kwame posts player stats which are glaringly bad, I have to give him some credibility.

More importantly, the guy that's going to be our small forward if we don't hit the lottery or get someone else for the next few seasons. Battier may not be back next year, and as someone said before, he'll be out of the league in a few years anyway. I don't think that we should worry about giving him minutes, as it does nothing for our roster after this year. DaDakota just wants Budinger to have time to develop, which I may or may not agree with, but either way, I do acknowledge that there's more value in doing that over playing Battier.

I just hope that if we do get that pick, that it doesn't get traded for another "intangible" guy.

Battier has been bad, Chase has been far worse...

    Can JT play the 3?

Can we go big with Jeffries maybe?

Battier had a terrible offensive game. I still take him over Budinger anytime who has been a total disappointment so far this year - he seems like he regressed.

the 3 spot is our most obvious glaring weakness this year. i'm still adamant that the ariza salary dump was a terrible move for us.

Trade Battier for what, a bag of shorts? IF the FANS know he's not the same player he once was, you think pro scouts wouldn't have figured out the same?

I wouldn't trade him, keep him on as a player coach who get limited minutes. Budinger has played better the last couple games, he might be out his slump, so no real need to do anything as of yet, especially not with Battier. I like what he brings off the court.

I forgot to mention that Lee has also been a major disappointment. As much as I disliked Ariza's attitude, he is clearly better than Lee.
