LOL. good one. But the OP's proposal wasn't Brewer for Gay. It's Brewer AND Ariza AND a first rounder.

With all seriousness, we don't need more offense. We need more defense. Why would you give up a guy like Ariza for a guy like Gay?

Size, moving the scoreboard when Harden's out and rebounding. We don't actually have that good of a team when Harden sits. We might be able to draft a better option though. ;)

We've got an insane record when Ariza scores over 20. Rudy averages over 20. Hmmmm??? Of course, why move your best defender who marks the best player from the other team over and over?

So once again your idea of improving a shitty Rockets defense is to trade a good defender (Ariza) for a non defender (Gay)?

I would like to pick up Gay and have him come off the Bench.

I'm OK with the idea of shaking up the backcourt / wings, but I would like to keep Ariza, since he's one of the last engaged defenders we have left.

You'd think that after Memphis and Toronto got significantly better after Gay was traded people would finally realize that he's just not a good basketball player. Would you rather have more points or more wins? And in Gay's case it really does seem like on or the other.

This has to be one of the worst trade ideas I have ever seen.

So many here complaining about giving up defensive for more offense.

Should have been clear to y'all this team went all in on offense when they hired Dantoni. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck then....

Might as well embrace it....this team is all built on out scoring the opponent. Anything otherwise just creates identity confusion. Until you get serious accountability on the defensive side you're just trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

why, rudy gay is having his best season in years if you go by advanced stats, not his fault he stuck playing with cousins. we are in win now mode, we will still keep mcdaniels for defense. harrell/ dekker can be traded for noel( who has an abundanced of guys up front) we can pair noel with capela, and philly who has a bunch of future first might throw in a sweetner too like a first rounder or the draft rights to Furkan Korkmaz

dude ariza aint all that, we have too many limited players who cant but the ball on the floor, and if giving up a first means getting rid of brewer then so be it, rudy gay and james harden are close( they played on team usa together) so rudy gay might sign an extension with us.

also we can get that first rounder back in a trade with philly who has a bunch of future first and second picks.. i have already brought up harell/dekker for nerlens noel/ and a future first rounder or the draft rights to furkan korkmaz..

Rudy Gay will look for big money the following year , giving up our first rounder for a rental ... I would be hesitant on pulling the trigger. Thank you Ryan Anderson for clogging our payroll next year ....
