Where's the option for neither? I have nothing against either of them but they haven't proven they can lead a championship contending team.
I can't see what was wrong with Both besides competing with nagging injuries other then that they just needed relief and motivation because positive energy is required to keep your relief fresh and determined and after Jeff they really were short handed untill relief filled in, now it's just the matter of conditioning and health.
YOFs ftl. yao, at his peak, was very good, 25/9. If he stayed like that for more than one year, which he didnt and never will, then i'd probably pick yao since it's easier to pick up wings. but yao is made of glass and easily taken out of games with fronting. so i chose tmac, 2 time scoring champion, great court vision, and solid rebounder/assist/steals for his position (for way more years than yao at his peak). whether or not his style of play is conducive to winning, that's another debate. i think it's just a matter of finding the right players
I take McGrady's peak as 02/03 - 04/05 season. That middle year wasn't so great, though. Yao's peak years ... probably 06/07-08/09. I'll go with McGrady.
Yao is slow and fumbles the ball at the end of games. At least Tmac can get off a shot. But I would build my franchise around neither. Wiesbord realized that before a lot of other people.
And there is no point of comparing yao to anyone, he will win. Put yao against lebron and i wouldn't be shocked if yao won the poll.
Do you want to say TMac dragged Yao's legs and Yao should have pass the first round earlier without TMac.
This is why I wrote this thread. If Tracy comes out and plays amazing this year (big possibility). Should we resign him? If the man still has it in him, I don't see why not. I'm just trying to get people out of the bias against Tracy. If he comes back and plays well, we have a legitamate chance to go deep in the playoffs next year. And no I'm not a rockets fan, I just get on clutch fans because I am not a rockets fan...
First of all 06-07 tmac>04-05 tmac so no he wasn't on the decline when rox first aquired him. Second of all assuming yao and mcgrady stay in their primes for the same amount of time, then any sane person would pick mcgrady in half a heart beat. You'd have to be an absolute asinine to pick prime yao over prime mcgrady. Prime t-mac is the second or third best SG of all time. Prime Yao would be lucky to crack top 15 centers. If you said yao and really meant it then please stop watching basketball cause the sport is clearly not for you.
Obviously, this poll is going to be Yao sided. But there is no way you can pass on a McGrady especially in his first year in Houston.
