Problem is that the Lakers and Miami don't want him. The sad part is the Clipper's are even trying to justify bring him in by saying "who wouldn't take a look at him?" And we know him, his agent and he's friends with B.Davis.

I think the Clippers should go after Matt Barnes instead. The Toronto deal is dead because Orlando miscalculated on the Sign and Trade agreement.

I would root for the Clippers to have a competitive season regardless of TMac. Rockets games against them would be way more exciting with McGrady on the other end of the floor.

As a T-Mac fan, I find it troubling that the Clippers GM/official started off his statement with: "From a due diligence standpoint..."

I take that as meaning that they're only looking at him because they don't want to leave any stone unturned, so to speak. Basically, they're appraising all available options, even unlikely ones like McGrady. Ouch.

    (I may be wrong.)

In McGrady's defense.. a knee surgery is pretty difficult to come back from.

I had ACL reconstruction on my knee 2 years ago and i'm just now beginning to feel comfortable on it. But when you have microfracture...those surgeries are usually career threatening if its later in their careers (Sura, Webber, Alan Houston, Mashburn, Terrell Brandon, Penny).

Tracy showed glimpses that he's still got a little bit left in the tank. I think if he does end up playing for the Clippers (or any team), he may not show consistency until maybe after the all-star break...and that's only if he gets consistent 25-30 mins/game

You get REP for name dropping Terrell Brandon. One of my favorite PG's from back in the day. I think he's been forgotten by many but he was the ISH back then.

He used to take Francis to the back of the woodshed on a regular basis when Stevie was the next big thing.

Sounds an awful lot like the Rockets within the last 5 or so years, with the only difference being the predictions being better for the Rockets than the Clips.

Sam Cassell turned the Clippers around.

I don't know if T-mac has the leadership ability to do that.

Oh and DEFINITELY not the championship experience and clutch city heart of a champion ability.

Well yeah - I wasn't trying to say we were the Clippers. Obviously, our record was far superior to theirs and we've actually had post-season success.

But it doesn't negate the fact that for many seasons, both teams come in with heavy expectations that things will be drastically different from before, and the disappointment when they are not.
