ur looking thru a rose-color myopic lense.

The Lakers took the Yao-less Rox team lightly, playing disinterested; that was the only reason the series went to 7 games.

I can't imagine the Lakers are interested in McGrady even for vet min. I would think that the only teams interested in signing him would do so only for the publicity - which the Lakers don't need. Too much risk to the chemistry for the Lakers to take a look.

I could say the same thing about why the Celtics took them to 7 this year
because it is just an assumption/opinion

I bet Barkley could give the Lakers 4-5 minutes off the bench.

Wasn't Payton on the 2006 Miami Heat team?

He's an ass for saying it out loud, but its true had he been the one playing with Duncan or Shaq, or hell if the basketball God's didn't choose to punish a seemingly good guy in Grant Hill while in Orlando, he very well could have multiple rings.

Why wouldn't he want to play in LA? I can't stand them either, but they're still the favorite to win again next year already. Besides, how do we throw stones without looking in the mirror first? We tanked knowing we had a 1 in 2 shot of drafting Olajuwon. A freakin' coin flip nearly had the Blazers with the best inside/outside combo possibly EVER. Although Drexler had a hell of a lot to do with the '95 ship, he did ride Olajuwon's coat tails 10 years later. Barkley nearly did the same. "Then, wahhhhh, I don't want to play in Charlotte, I'm not eating until you send me to LA." I'd like to damned criticize Kobe for that, but can't. "Wahhhh, I don't want to play in Vancouver. I'm giving you the silent treatment until you trade me."

    ur all mixed up.

    Yao missed the entired series.

Perkins played 5 games, helping his team to a 3-2 edge.

I don't see the Lakers doing this. That team needs youth at the wing position.

You could say that, but you'd be wrong. If it was simply a matter of the Lakers being disinterested, they probably wouldn't have fallen behind in the series 3-2 and they certainly wouldn't have been down double digits to the Celtics in the third quarter of game 7.

When the Lakers had to beat the Yao-less Rockets last season (games 5 and 7), they won big.

McSissy just wants a free ride on the Lakers bandwagon. Rockets take them out in 6 games next year...with a healthy Yao.

The only reason I'd like to see mcgrady in a lakers uniform is so that I could see the look on his face when he gets his ads handed to him in the playoffs by the rockets. That'd be karmic entertainment!

You should probably check your facts.... Yao did not miss the entire series. He actually played the first 3 games.

I still don't get why some are making a big deal about this or acting like this is not normal.

This isn't McGrady in his prime. This looks a worn down McGrady that many expects is just about finished. Why wouldn't he want to go to a contender? I don't see the logic in acting like this is so bad that he wants to go to a team like the Lakers. He's never been out of the 1st round so of course he should be somewhat desperate if he feels this is last go round.

People are making a big deal and talking about T-Mac with disdain and scorn is because all of last year, he was talking out of his ass and saying how he was ready and that the Rockets are being mean to him by keeping him on the bench. He went to the Knicks and the truth was exposed.

I agree that definitely didn't help people thoughts on him. Maybe he now realizes he will never be what he once was.

He can still be a good 3rd option on a title team.

Ray Allen is a free agent. Not sure how he fits the triangle. But at least he can be counted on to play most games reasonably healthy
