I see what you mean, but he didn't fit as the 3rd piece to win CHAMPIONSHIP. I know T-Mac was out, Yao was out. So it didn't mater at the time.

But he didn't really fit in Rick's offense. It is created to pass the ball and be patient. Ron is not patient and like to force shots. I know we got to the 2nd round with him, but not with him as the main piece.

I guess the team felt the same, that's why he is with LA now.

I agree with you, but that doesn't make him a cancer. He really didn't fit into the LA triangle offense either and often made mistakes. But his defense was worth it, which is why he regularly played big minutes for both the Rockets and Lakers.

if the sperms end up blowing their MLE on splitter and the fakers do the same on she-mac, this could end up being an extra special offseason for the rockets finally gaining ground in the west :)

I disagree. Especially if you watch this year's finals the statement that " Ron is not patient and likes to force shots" is plain false.
Part of the reason is because of Media bias where he had that one bad game and they focused on that one isolated play where he forced a shot with the game clock running down ( which resulted in a three pointer by kobe anyway).

Throughout the series , Ron was patient on offense and did not force shots , he just didn't make a lot of open shots when he was open during his off nights much like kobe in game 7.

Of the four lakers wins, three of them came with Ron having a good offensive night.

Actually, we were a game seven away from knocking out the lakers , if Kobe played like crap in that game seven we would have had a shot. We had two lock down defenders in ron and shane but we just didn't have enough fire power with more than 30 million of our payroll not playing. That team overachieved, you have to accept that a player will have off nights. Those are the breaks of the game.

The real cancer is having a player who is not contributing on both ends of the floor and putting the whole team under the bus. That kind of loser's mentality rubs off on the whole team. For all his faults, Ron never blamed any of his past teammates even reminiscing about his past indiana team in the post game conference. Its hard not to respect a guy for that kind of loyalty and honor.

hmm, interesting. Hopefully they aren't the same tmac vagabonds that are here jumping from site to site.

the Laker fans I know are Laker fans since the Magic era, they laughed when I told them this.

I don't think he's going there, he's been talking joining a bunch of teams.

What do you honestly know about how hard tmac works? He worked his butt off last summer. Man i hate this when fans just presume things, u don't know how hard he works, he probably works harder than alot of guys in this league.

So they signed him to a long contract. Big flippin' deal. The Lakers could very well run off 2 or 3 rings in that time. Sounds like a good deal for the Ron and the Lakers to me.

Yeah, he didn't fit in Houston at all. We only got the second round for the first time in ages and gave the Lakers the best run throughout that entire playoff series. Spare us the didn't fit crap. He fit better than that chucker Ariza.

Your level of hating on a player that helped take the Rockets franchise to a level it hasn't seen in almost a decade is sickening.

You know, I was saying the same thing and hoping for the same thing when they signed Artest. We saw how all that panned out. If Philly Jax is the coach, it can work. If hes not, good news for everyone else.

does the xbox version have quitting and demanding a trade or not playing back to backs ? that would be pretty accurate.

He didn't like Rick Adelman, do you think he'll like Phil Jackson?
Phil controls the entire team, his superstars and his scrubs. that bs he pulled with Rick won't cut it with Phil, if Phil plays him 7 minutes, he plays 7 minutes.
I doubt he can handle that with any coach.

The big difference here is that Ron plays DEFENSE.

Tmac plays, no he doesn't, he just QUITS.

tinman, lets not kid ourselves. We all know the guy is a perennial quitter, but the fact is he would have done well coming off the bench for us. Had it not been for his arrogance we would been much better. Sadly he is ok with coming off the bench for them and this would with no doubt help the lakers.

that's what his PR firm says. The only coach he liked was JVG cause JVG let him do whatever he wanted.

he didn't work out with NYC and that was a better fit for him cause he could jack up all the shots he wanted.
