This dude herer is the biggest hipocrit in the league. First he talked about his beef with RonRon, than he said how he would love to play in NY and End his career their after saying he would love to end his career in houston. Now hes saying that he would love to play for LA and except a lesser role behind ronron the guy who just last year he had beef with. Stacy McLady make up your mind man.
exactly. if he signs with a bad team, people will say he just wants to get his stats and show his worth. now if he wants to sign with a contender, they say he just wants to jock a ride to playoff success. he's at the stage in his career where winning is more important to him. it would not be surprising for me to see him sign with a contender like the lakers. and he would accept coming off the bench if he plays with another superstar. and the lakers have one. i wouldn't be shocked if he goes to the cavs either (they need some bench scoring too).
McGrady He is still a facilitator and a damn good play maker. He would not have to score as much. It would honestly suck to see the Lakers sign the guy because they will be a lot better than previous years. The only thing that can stop the Lakers is injuries.
If any organization can harness the power of 'cancers' it'd be the Lakers. Look what they did with Artest. He lost Game 5 for the Lakers but was key in Game 6 and 7 as well as Games 5 & 6 against the Suns. He brought more good than bad to the table IMO. Odom was considered a cancer before he joined the Lakers too. Now he's a perennial sixth man candidate and one of the most versatile players in the league. Pau Gasol was a first round exit waiting to happen until he joined the Lakers.
I will say this. If Tracy can get to 65-70 % of what he was back in 2008, that would be a damn good pick up for the Lakers. Hell.....then they might be able to make a run at a guy like Bosh. The rich just get richer huh?

There is no way I see him accepting a bench player role. How many minutes would he play behind Ron and Kobe?
I'm not sure who the primary 2 back-up is...but as Kobe ages they are gonna want to cut his minutes *whether or not this actually happens remains to be seen* So if McGrady was signed as a back-up I think he could out compete Vujabitch for the spot and probably see 10-12 mins per night depending. And if he was 65% of what he used to be and healthy that would make him one of the top back up 2 guards in the NBA.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't you start a thread about T-mac being the lakers point forward next season?
Less chance of that happening with Ron, his game isn't predicated on speed and athleticism, you can't lose what you never had. Smart move by the Lakers to let Ariza go and get Ron, he's the better player and they have another ring which at least proves they didn't get worse with Artest.
none of you guys know any real Laker fans it seems, go find yourself one and tell me what they think of this.
Kobe has only played with TMAC on all-star teams. When Kobe finds out that TMAC doesn't like to work as hard as he does that won't sit well with him. I say let him go. Artest reaching out to TMAC is surprising especially all the stuff that went down here in Houston. I guess getting rings wipes memories. Tmac as "another slasher" is laughable.
