Tmac has always LOOKED like those really good players on court, who knows, he jus might come back wit a vengeace
The Spurs needed another body. They didn't cut Stephen Jackson with the though of signing McGrady. Jack was becoming a locker room distraction and the Spurs don't put up with that. When they got the news that Boris Diaw is going to be out until the 2nd round and with the uncertainty around Manu, they need another wing. The Spurs aren't counting on TMAC to do anything but if he does then it's a plus. The Spurs had an empty spot on their bench and decided to try a low risk high reward move with McGrady. As others have said, it's doubtful he makes an impact and the most he's going to see the court is 10 or 15 mpg. Even if all else fails it gives the Spurs another player with great size and vision and somebody who can shoot the ball.
Nah. Its your least favorite team and tmac is your favorite player. It just makes it easier for real rockets fans to want to beat San Antonio like road kill

Yawn. Spers are in desperate, win now while Duncan can still play mode. But I see why the Spers did it...they saw how effective he was in last years playoffs, and how crappy he was during the regular season. The best thing they could've done was pretend they didn't know him during their disciplined regular season, then suddenly "oh hey, lets pick up an extra guy for the playoffs". If they really are going to play him only during the playoffs it might be a good move if it doesn't screw up the chemistry...Tmac needs to have the ball to be effective. I guess we'll see how this turns out, but it smells of desperation to me .
I think this is a GREAT signing for Spurs.... What has McGady played in the last year? A month or two against lesser competition overseas to get loose and shake off the rust. Now he heads into the playoffs with nearly a year to rest his past injuries and ailments... I can see him exploding in 15-20 minutes increments.... great freakin pickup... I'm a big Morey fan but I HATE how other teams get to pickup this lowprice lowrisk high return allstars (Tmac, AI, etc...) while were busy tyin up roster spots playing 'Dleague bingo' and hopin we strike it rich on an untapped talent...
