Yes. I'm just saying what he would have said if he was smart. No doubt that his way of saying things gives us more to talk about.

real quote is that he said they'd be 30 points better (i.e. the amount of points he, boozer, korver, brewer bring to the team). and they were a 0.500 team last season, so what's the big deal?

"Without me, without Boozer, they're a .500 ball club. And with the guys that they added, if they add me, I think we'll be 30 points better. I think we'll be a better defensive team with Thibodeau, who I played with for three years. So [the Bulls] have a really good chance of being good. The city should be excited about this team."

I don't see the big deal in what he said.

If any other player said that their goal was to become a starter I don't think people would be making anything out of it.

    I am happy for Mac!

I hope he performs well in Chi-town.

I will never understand why someone will hate on another person.

    T-Mac is a great player.

I am excited to watch him play again.

I hope he is injury free and can contribute to Chicago.

So which group on this board generally exhibit more troll-ish tendencies? The McGrady haters or the McGrady apologists?

We've all seen TMac causing drama. This is not the case. Suck it up TMac haters. Nothing wrong with what he said. What he demonstrated to the Bulls today is all that matters.. which is probably not much I would assume.

This might go bad in a hurry. If in his mind they see him coming off the bench but he sees himself as a starter...

And the reason I think he's fallen off so bad more than anything is his D or lack thereof.

All I'm saying is going by media reports, the bulls are willing to sign him if he's willing to accept a bench role. These quotes pretty clearly indicate he's not very accepting to the idea.

I guess he's never been that great at PR. Anyway I hope he gets signed I held out hope once that he'd regain his abilities but I just don't think it's realistic at this point. He needs to be alittle more humble or else no one is going to want to sign him.

I kinda digged the beard lol, well a little. He had a pretty sweet goatee look going on in NY which was better than the beard

Why is it that people like you are so quick to chuck him on the pile with Iverson, he may turn out differently, there isnt like one set way this can end up, its not like the 2 players are the same. Find it kinda bad that you would just say he is the same as Iverson, give the guy a chance to show what he can do when he has had sufficient time to recover from MF surgery

Why are the Bulls signing this failure?

He is a distraction even before the training camp.

One of the most cancerous players in the NBA right now.

I hope he makes it.. there are few styles of play I like as much as Tmac in his prime. Unfortunately prime rib well done on the verge of burnt is what we're likely to find on the menu.

what he means is % points so he thinks they will be a .800 team which translates to 65-66 wins. Not quite as ridiculous as 71 wins.
