There's something wrong with him mentally. I doubt he'll preform at that level this season. If he doesn't get it together by next season, he's done.
This is what T-Mac averaged in last year's playoff series against Utah: 25.3 PPG 5.9 RPG 7.3 APG 0.7 SPG 0.9 BPG 0.394 FG% 0.250 3 pt FG% Contrast to his 31/7/7 on 45% shooting against Dallas in 05, it's easy to see T-Mac has fallen off ever since. Hate to be a downer, but we aren't gonna see the insane T-Mac of the playoffs. If he was still the 05 T-Mac, i'm sure we'd sweep the Jazz....but he's not anymore.
I would rather see him averaging 18ppg 8apg 7rpg and 2 spg on 47% shooting, but most of it i want to see kyle korver averaging 4 ppg on 20% shooting due to T-Mac´s defense.
Mad crazy numbers!! We need EVERYONE (fans included) to step up for the playoffs!! Let's go Rockets!!
that would be nice. however, the t-mac in 05 was on a mission to stop Dirk, and he locked him down in games 1 and 2. i dont think the defensive ability is there with t-mac anymore.
I'm telling you, T-Mac needs to go see the Witch Doctor in Austin. that way he gets his mojo back and whatever energy blockages removed that are hampering his play
I still can't believe he's in Waco. Have you ever been to Waco, Texas? I transferred out of Baylor from UT; it's that bad.
from Baylor and now attend UT****** because of the epic fail that is Waco (no idea what happened to my post)
iverson is averaging 30.0 ppg while playing ridiculously high minutes (45.5 mpg) and shooting only 40 % from the field.
This is just as unlikely as the old stats people are putting up from young tmac. He isn't right physically and he's been declining. I don't think he's fast enough to fight through the screens and still get a hand in Utah's shooters' faces either. He won't shoot anywhere near 47% (that's ridicululously high for a star SG). Now that i think about it the rest of those stats seem pretty likely though just adjust that fg% to a normal SG level around 44-45%, then take into account he is in a shooting slump and injured. He'll probably be around 38-40%. Its kind of ironic that Tracy's career is somewhat mirroring Grant Hill's, atleast he tries to stay on the court though, but that's another topic all together.
Last year against Utah T-Mac shot 39%. With the way he's finished this season, I have no reason to believe T-Mac will shoot above 42%. i think he'll hover around 40%, settle for jumpers that have zero chance of going in, and have games where he's 7-21,

Actually in playoff intensity games he does step up his defense. Remember his game against the suns? That was a big game, really big game. He stepped up big and played good defense. You could tell. He dived for loose balls, took charge EARLY when we were down big. IMO t-mac will show up. Unfortunately the haters got to this thread early (I recognize all of them). Yes his stat numbers went down, but hell that is still some insane numbers. BTW, t-mac has a few extra gears as we know it in playoffs, and we know he developed a new gear. He can defer to his teammates more often, which is awesome
I'm more concerned about the role players. I know T-Mac is gonna step it up. My biggest worry is having a travesty like this http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/200304230DET.html
Yea that is exactly what we need. T-Mac deferring to guys like Luther Head and Hayes who can't buy a bucket at times or make stupid decisions. T-Mac never "developed" the ability to defer to teammates. He was always unselfish. He only defers more now because he's lost some game. Who would you rather have? Player A: 31 ppg 7.4 rpg 6.7 apg on 45% shooting Player B: 25 ppg 5.9 rpg 7.3 apg on 39% shooting Player B is supposedly more "team oriented" and "defers" to teammates. Give me a break. Saying T-Mac has developed the ability to defer to teammates is a lie and an excuse for T-Mac's inability to dominate a game as much as he used to.
