guess MVP was bullsh1+ when MJ, Hakeem, Kobe, and your crush Lebron won them too. MVP isn't 100% credible but you do need to be a talented player to receive it or even be seriously considered for it. tmac was never even robbed of the MVP. [insert lame tmac excuse]
Tmac is talented b/c he donates money to Darfur? I'm certain the NBA requires that players do some sort of community service.

As far as heart goes, tmac played with heart for stretches in games. you just were never sure when he would decide to shut it down. AI would play his heart out until the end of the game.

As far as work ethic? they're a wash. tmac and AI both were lazy, arrogant, and had problems playing on structured teams. that, age, and injuries is why they are irrelevant today and will never be again. this is why we look at the MVPs, scoring titles, old games, etc. and AI comes out on top.

anyway, they're both irrelevant. just AI's legacy is less irrelevant than tmac's.

The 2nd best player on those Magic teams was a 35 year old Darrell Armstrong.

Kinda hard to win with that

I am die hard Rockets fan over multiple decades and I will never blame our horrible flame-out let-down series losses on Tracy McGrady.

Like I said, if you can't put in the work ethic you don't have heart in the first place. If you're really determined to win games, why can't you set aside a couple of hours a day to improve yourself? In fact, what does heart even mean? Are you supposed to have earth, wind and fire and call Captain Planet?

With AI, he played in the era before advanced statistics was born, and people just looked at his ppg and assumed he was a good scorer. Never mind that he doesn't play D, is a pg but can't make plays, and can't make open jumpers, just watch him chuck 30 shots a night, score 26 ppg and have everyone call him elite. At least Tmac with all his flaws can be part of a winning team, AI doesn't know how to play b-ball properly at the NBA level, all he really knows is isolate, chuck up a shot.

Only thing is AI was luckier than Tmac. He was lucky his team had actual talent apart from him, and he was lucky Larry Brown coached them for one year. As other people have said, in his prime Tmac's second best player was 35 year old Darrell Armstrong, and after that he had to deal with Yao sitting out of the playoffs every year.

Iverson / Larry Brown was 6 years.

So we got Tmac in his decline and not his prime?

I thought we got him in his prime, the other factors were we were in the west and that he played with Yao Ming.

So Tmac vs Dallas = not his prime?

    MerGady by a mile.

If only he had AI's invincibility. Dude could play with a broken hand and half a leg.

I must really not watch NBA games because I don't recall tmac ever being part of a winning team. nevertheless, leading a 'winning' team.

do you think Ron Artest has heart? If you cant understand what playing hard for the entire game means then nobody can help you.

Talent? McGrady in a landslide. But who I want just depends on the team around them. Iverson really carried that team to the finals.

oh really? ok, I'm sure the kid down at the ymca has as much "heart" as anyone in the nba...lets retire his jersey and put him into the Naismith HOF.

I don't get this whole fascination with "heart"...what is heart supposed to accomplish?????
