I agree with everything in this thread anyone else that say otherwise Feel free to post your points for me to rebuke.
I think T-mac's elevation wasn't great tonight - except on that alley-opp fumbled catch. Otherwise he went up and looked like he didn't get very high. His jumpers were also short. Seems he had no legs or that knee is still bothering him.
What is he going to say... Tmac is mentally out of it and I just dont know what to do. Ya im sure he is out of shape etc but Tmac just doesnt have that DESIRE. He plays during stretches, he gets hot for a quarter. His defense is horrible.... go to a Rockets game and watch Tmac play. He stands in one spot most the time. I just feel like the longer we keep him .. the less value he has.
McGrady is tentative about drawing contact, and there's some good reason for that. The last thing we need right now is him getting another injury.
TMac needs to take some time off and get himself 100% able to play. The knee is not right and I hope Morey can bring MM to let TMac take the rest and rehab. he needs to get his knee stronger.
That's why I think something is still wrong, he has not shot more than 4 FT this month. This is an incredible stat for someone of his ability. I checked his post injury performance in the 06-07 season, he was getting 10 FT/game his 2nd game back. When Tracy fixes whatever is wrong, that's the time this team will really take off, those 4 extra FT a game are going to be huge for us.
If that were true, I have no idea if he would say it. But he certainly wouldn't lie about Tmac being out of shape. Nobody asked him, Adelman simply stated it when discussing something else. He is out of shape. If you don't participate in practice or games for a month, there is a period of getting in shape. Ask Bonzi. He never even made it with JVG, because he was so out of shape it was midseason by the time he was ready.
First we need that 3rd Scorer and that 3rd Scorer might even be our 2nd option. Tmac doesnt need to force shots up. If he was asked to do two things... Drive in the lane, get contact ... who cares if your pinky starts to bleed. lol Play point forward like he has been doing but be more aggressive. I like to see a EXPLOSIVE JAM sometime where he can show emotion, when your superstar player shows it ... the team feeds off that.
Good points. In the past month, McGrady's had to come back from an injury and also from battling the flu, so it makes sense if he doesn't have the energy for a full game yet. I think skipping the All-Star Weekend is going to be really good for him.
I started watching Tmac play back in his old days in Toronto. at the time, I kept telling my buds that this kid is going to be somthing big even it was just his rookie season and he came off the bench. but now the only thing that Tmac has left to impress me is his pass. it often "wow" me, and i dont think anybody else in the team is as good of a passer as Tmac. the rest of him? dont even wanna talk about it...
I agree with OP. The week off for him should be good. Hopefully he'll come back energized and ready to roll for the rest of the season.
When he came back from his injury, he said he was hurt and would be hurt all season. It sucks guys, and I want him to score a boat load more because I'm a HUGE tmac fan but lets face it, he's giving us what he can give us. some nights it'll be more, some nights it'll be like last night. But you know what? I'd rather have him take less ft's, less shots or wahtever he's doing and have the rest of the team's balls grow more like rcently and have them make up what tmac is lacking. old tmac <<<<<<<< rockets role players ALL stepping up
So many excuses for T-Mac. So little time to read them. You would swear members are on this guys payroll or something.
