[Tracy McGrady] I could've won championships, I just never had the pieces around me.

People were in heavy denial about those Van Gundy/Carroll Dawson rosters. They were so bad. At least 2005 was fun, but still old and flawed.

The culture of Clutchfans has changed now; people would be bashing all over those hapless scrubs. A playoff game where 4 players scored. That happened. Jeez.

2009 will always be a heartbreak. Like 2018, it was an injury away from changing the all-time legacies of players and coaches... and the Rockets franchise. We even lost Dikembe too.

At least we got rewarded with.... Tilman Fertitta? Ah... I got nothing.

We just press on for a new day.

Reminds me of the Kings that were robbed against LA, what would have been a major accomplishment for that broken franchise.

McGrady is still a Rocket to me though, so he's family,.. I got some love for the big galoot.

Pippen on the other hand, and even Barkley tbh, were never really Rockets. Like Russ... CP3 was a Rocket for a quick second... Wall to his credit maybe seemed like he was OK with being a Rocket if it had worked out. Mutombo was solidly a Rocket. But who's this Dwert guy?

Maybe Russ could've been... Some are born Rockets, some achieve Rocketness, and some, well...

T-Mac was up 2-0 on a good, not great, Utah team in 07, and shot 39% from the field and 25% from 3 in that series taking 23 shots a game

he can cry about the roster, but he was also the one getting fatter and worse every single year…literally every single season he was worse than the previous one

he had his shot in 09, but years of laziness caught up with him

He could have played with Rookie Dwight in Orlando and Rudy Gay but he didn't want to play with any rookies..

It's hilarious that he can talk about championships when he could never lead a team past the FIRST ROUND. If he was able to drag teams to the 2nd round or WCF, alright fine. Getting stuck in the first round over and over though? Let's not act like it was a matter of having pieces around you.

TMac's point stands, but he shouldn't be saying it. This is the kind of stuff you let people say for you. He has zero self awareness and a lot of insecurity.

In 2007 Boozer had 27.4% of the Jazz's points per game in that series. Next closest was Deron Williams at 18%.
Yao and Mac both had 29% of the Rockets PPG. And we aint even talking points created (+ assists) or potential points (non-assist due to bricks).
They averaged 50 and the team averaged 37 around them.

    In 2008 Mac averaged 27 of the team's 88 with 8.2 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.8 blocks.
The next closest scorers were Rafer and Scola with 14 apiece.

    In 2005 when the Mavs won by FORTY in game 7 he averaged 31 - 7 - 7 - 1.5 - 1.5.
Yao was 21-7 and the next highest point scorer was.... Mike James.
In game 7 Yao and Mac had 60 of the team's 76.
The rest of the team shot 6 of 33 from the field.
Jason Terry and Josh Howard scored 52 on Bob Sura and Scott Padgett.

His majesty James Harden averaged 28-6-7 in the Playoffs with Houston with a PER of 24.0 on 33.1% USG.
Mac had 28-7-7 with a PER of 24.4 on 35.5% USG.

Both guys were let down by supporting casts at different magnitudes at different times, but they are remembered very differently due to Clutchfans popular narratives.

Substitute Harden with T-Mac and there is zero doubt that Harden can still drag his team out of the first round.
