Thats why i believe we should place him on Inactive list and let his back heal.having him out there is mnot helping anyone and least of all tracy himself. put him on the injured list, let the physios and the club doctors workout an plan to get him ready for next season. if his back dosent come good next season, them the last option of trading him must be considerd. but thats the last and i repeat LAST OPTION.

i can end all of this, heres what will happen,if we lose ,or someone wins enough games to offically keep us out, we will close shop on tmac for the season. either way like the 610 guy said we are in the season and this summer we will run every test possible on tmac's back.

If his back doesn't come around next season Tmac will be untradeable. Just like Grant Hill became untradeable because of his contract.

Have you guys considered the fact that maybe Tracy's such a competitor that it kills him on the inside when he can't contribute? You can see the dejection in his eyes when he has to sit on the bench. So rather than him being able to adequately rest his back, Tmac's been forcing himself to come in when he's not 100% only to reaggrevate everything. You can see it on the court too. Maybe I'm crazy but when Tmac sweats, it looks as if it's a cold sweat from intense pain. All the sweat only gathers on his forehead, unlike the rest of our guys who're soaked and nasty looking.

So instead of Tmac getting consecutive days' rest, he's been chipping in whatever he can, but he hasn't been getting better. He knows the Rox need him now and I'm sure he's trying the best he can.

All these trade Tmac threads don't do him any justice. He should retire as a Rocket for chemistry reasons alone. Nevermind that he can score 13 in 35 seconds. That's just a bonus.

Oh yeah, Tmac will be 100% next season. Book it.

    damn, I hope not.

But in the land of the lawless and the rough and tumble of this jungle, only the strong survive......nature or fate will have no mercy towards the weak.

    Man, I sound corny.

Tmac's health no question is a concern. But they can mask it a bit if they can find a decent 3rd scorer to pick up the slack. That will buy us time and wins in the regular season and Tmac wont have to bear so much of a load.

Does anyone know if surgery is an option and if so, would it be effective in relieving tension on his back?? From what I understand he doesn't wanna have to go through surgery and would rather retire...

if by pretty injury free you mean he has averaged missing 12 games a year then yeah he has been.

I wouldn't consider his first 2 years in Toronto as productive. (~20mpg, <10 ppg)

Comparing him too Grant Hill isn't all that bad. After all, both of them were phenomenal before the injuries. I'm not hoping TMac following Grant's footstep but you can't stop wondering about the resemblance.

Afterall, it's a thread comparing both players here. It funny that people gets labelled as a hater by just pointing out the obvious.

I know this thread is a couple of days old, but I had to bring this up. Let me preface this and say that my wife is NOT a basketball fan. She hears me talk about things from time to time, and sometimes she remembers stuff that I say, but she might pass Michael Jordan at the mall and not know it.

I was looking at ESPN.com just now, and my wife looked over my shoulder and saw the article about Tracy McGrady being out for 5 weeks.

She just patted me on the shoulder and said, "I'm sorry Tracy McGrady is the new Grant Hill, honey."

    :D

If all that has been said is only 50% true then the Rockets must have a deep think about all of this and start building the team around Yao instead of arround Yao & Tracy. Let us hope that with weight loss that Tracy's back won't be much of a bother next season & all of this will be behind us!

*weird that someone brought the curse of the Magic Swingmen (Penny, GHill, Tmac)

well we cant add TMac to that list yet.. lets all hope for the best and if we get knocked out of contention TMac should go straight to the IL and focus on rest and preparing for next season.

I would try to reunite him with his cousin...

TMac for Jefferson, Kristic, Padgett and whoever it would take to make it work.

We get the backup for when Deke leaves. Jeffersons got game and he is young. I sure miss Padgett draining his shots in a Rox uniform.

Too bad TMacs back is jacked. :(

Come on guys, while P. Hardway & G. Hill's injuries were career threating, Tracy's back not remotely close to serious.

Yes, his back problem will be a life time thing, won't go away at all, but at the worst, he will miss a few games here and there, but will be available most of the nights.

I don't think enough people understand that because this season it's been severe due to his hitting the weights all summer long. His body is not built to be this heavy on the top, and therefore it's taking a toll on him.

Not remotely close to serious???

How many games has he missed this year?

How many more will he miss?

How many did he miss in Orlando?

    Look at his numbers...

Look at the way he has been playing... even last year. He favors his back alot.

Your right... not serious at all.
