yaos numbers have been declining and his injuries are happening every year i guess he must suck too huh.
Actually Yao is still very efficient, shoots over 50%....but you are correct about his injury situation. The team should look at it next year when his contract is up too, just like they are doing with Tmac. DD
like you said DD, it's a business. so yao is here to stay until he retires. i actually like that though b/c yao's like our own son as he was drafted here, and i would love if he retires here.
there is and that's something i hope we can continue post-yao. not many franchises can claim this (lakers w/ wilt, jabbar, shaq, now gasol). but look at ours. it's ridiculous: hayes, malone, sampson (should be regarded much higher if healthy), dream, now yao.
while mutombo wasnt with us very long nor was he near his peak, I am still very proud to say he was a rocket big man
i appreciate more as a person than a player. to me, he did more for the game and the people off the court, than on. like i have always stated, he's the moving giving NBA player in history.
There's no way we keep Yao if he wants more then 12+ mill. He is not going to last after age 33 or 34. Just see Rik Smits.
Yao will never play a healthy season. I've said it time and time again, you're better off looking for a unicorn than a healthy ming or mac. This organization needs to part with one of them (tracy mostly) this off season. Call me crazy but if we could snag Marc Gasol + Mayo+ fillers for anything on our team I would do it. Marc is going to be a lot better than Pau, he has that toughness factor and Mayo will be an allstar.
Not at all, what have I said to personalize this? I think you my friend are taking things personally. Anyway, Kerry Kittles had microfracture surgery in 2000. He came back after 16 months, and resumed a productive career for another 4 seasons. There wasn't a drop off. So I am not sure how that is a failure? Here's his stats from NBA.com http://www.nba.com/playerfile/kerry_kittles/index.html You can see the break in his career from the year he was out - the 00'-01' season. You guys were bashing me for not naming a wing player to have the surgery and come back. I named two. Now i am a jazz fan? I really am tired of personal attacks. I won't attack you back. I'm tired of this crap.
LOL - dude you started the whole thing by saying people that know basketball, what are you like 12? Seriously....ROFLMAO !!! I said, name me ONE wing player over the age of 30 that came back and was as good as he was pre surgery. How old was Kerry Kittles when he had it? And as pointed out, it didn't work so he had to do something else. That is the point....putting any thought into Tmac as a player is a very low percentage play, it is his contract that is valuable right now, and teams that are losing money will give up players of value to the Rockets for the cost savings. Morey is a smart guy, he understands asset managment, I get your don't sell low take...but the point is...TMac is not going to get back to a high point....so you sell now, because his CONTRACT is worth more than he is as a player. The NBA is a business, they know his history, they know his moodiness, they know his lack of committment to playing every night, his constant excuses, his tossing teamates under the bus, his locker room antics.... But they also know that they can save MILLIONS Of dollars if they take him on for his contract. I believe, that is what Morey will do.......and it is exactly what I think he should do. If the organization decides to ride Tmac for one more year, I will be fine with that..... I just think they are not that stupid. DD
I am not going to get into this back and forth about 12-year olds and personal attacks. You and others are letting your personal anger and disappointment with T-mac interfere with rational thinking though. That's understandable. But no one will want to take all 23 million dollars of t-macs contract right now - so you won't get much for it. It's a silly thing to do - have a fire sale is not smart. The logical route is to let t-mac try to make a recover. If he succeeds, great, if he doesn't then that's too bad, you can use his contract before the trading deadline. But what you are doing is trying to just get him off the team and use whatever excuse you can. Saying I am 12 doesn't help your case Dada. Let's keep it civil.
You may want to add George Mikan too with the Lakers although he really played when they were still the Minneapolis Lakers. Wow thanks for your reminder, I really feel that the Rockets are blessed with such number of great big men.
man i hate to check his carfax after this hahah talk about salvage title with accidents and flood damage
dude you are going non stop on protecting mc-glassy. a player who has been irrelevant for the entire season. Tracy would never score any points on you cause you defend him non stop.
From the website that shall not be named. Blinebury's writing for them now and this isn't from the "Rocket Guy"... .com/Story.asp?STORY_ID=12819
Name one player that came back from surgery... Name one wing player that came back from surgery... Name one wing player over 30 that came back from surgery... You seem to keep changing your parameters to make your argument Its a business, like you said, if there is a deal out there that makes the team better take it, but just trading him to trade him is dumb. I am sure he can still come and be a decent contribution to the team.
idk why you take DD serious. he has 40k+ posts and i see him on all these other forums with 5k+ posts. kinda funny
