Like who? I mean, what the ***** does that even mean? how did the fans quit on the team? by being so passionate that they are enraged and want to see some kind of changes? Nobody left. Nobody said that they were leaving the board or not going to watch the rockets anymore.

Are fans that show displeasure with the way things are going "quitters?"

I mean hell, to me the fans around here are currently exhibiting FAR more passion for the team than any of the players are.

The hell they didn't. You have a very short memory, tinman. I remember when half the board argued against re-signing the greatest player in the history of the franchise because he was too "greedy." I remember Barkley beaing a "lazy fat-ass," Rudy being a drunk that couldn't coach X and O's, and Clyde being a quitter for the way he played in game 5 against Utah.

Clutchcity/fans.com/.net, hasn't changed just like fanatics themselves havent changed. They're all different, and the ones that criticize, blame, and complain love the team just as much as the ones that always stay positive. Nobody's "quitting," they just all have different ways of expressing their fanaticism and passion for the team. The sooner everyone realizes that, the sooner we'll be rid of these idiotic (YOF, TOF, "Fan quitting," etc.) definitions and statements.

TMAC has always had control issues with is head coach as a super-star, rick adelman needs to light a fire under his A$$ but then again t-mac is leading the league in away game points per game...

the question becomes can tmac really get much better than he already is at his age, and does he had the mental toughness to help get the rockets out of the first round?

He had to pull himself out 'cause he was hurt, and our coach was too stupid to see that.

    THIS COACH SUCKS.

Theory on tmac faking injuries.(Remember Jimmy Kimmel is joked about it when him last year) He wants to feel needed. When he's out and the team startedosing, he'll come back and then "rescue them" Like he immediatly came back last year after Yao got injured and he was still supposly not fully recovered yet. He lead us big time without yao, and i'm assuming it brings out the best in him when he feels needed. Tmac is a special talent, but his menality obviously, is VERY fragile.

Tmac is a spectacular talent. He has amazing skills. That being said, there are several moments that stand out to me during his Rocket career:

Dallas/Hou game 7. Rox getting smoked, all the starters in still trying, Tmac sulking on the bench. I kept thinking "DUDE SHOOT ALL YOUR BULLETS AND THEN DIE!!!" I seriously doubt JVG thought, "the best chance we have is to put Tmac on the bench." I have a feeling Tmac took himself out. I didn't want to believe it, but now I think it is the truth.

2005-06 season. Tmac is out half the season with a "bad back." Let's all think for a moment, name one NBA player that would sit out half the year with a sore back. That was the year Yao had foot surgery, and a broken foot, while probably playing the same amount as Tmac.
SIDENOTE- that was when Tmac was having "mental" issues and "personal problems" he didn't want to reveal. We later found out to be the death of an in-law.

2006-2007 season. Great year for Tmac and Rox. He carried the team while Yao was out. Said it was "on me" if Rox lost. They lost. He didn't nail the door shut in game 7 by taking it to the hoop and getting fouled. Do you still think he feels it was "on him?" Threw out some fake tears as if he cared.

2007-2008 season. The first hint of a problem was when he strained his elbow. He made a big deal about it, saying it was some torn ligaments. HELLO a lot of NBA guys strain their elbows. Drama queen

-Tweaked his ankle, then pulled himself out of the game against the sixers. He could've at least come back to the bench and support his teammates.
What I have noticed with Tmac, is that he won't do any type of motion unless he gets the ball in the end. When does he EVER set a pick to set up another player? How many fast breaks does his long, flat threes cost the rox? How many momentum changes?
Like I said, he is incredibly talented, but is he a winner? A team player? Someone who would pass up his own numbers for the team cause? I doubt it. :(

Good Post bro....I was kinda mad at myself at first for hating this team...but then I realized...it's not the TEAM that I hate....its the lazy players and lack of effort. I really hope we have a GOOD trade in the works.

Enough Tmac bashing around. As most of us know he is kind mentally weak but you dont say he has no heart. Last year when Yao was down, he brought 50+ wins to us. A man without heart is unable to achieve that. To me, Tmac is way better than KG who really quited his team.

I probably haven't gained the reputation of being a TMac defender, but he really did tweak his ankle. With the game being out of hand, it was better for him to sit and rest it rather than risk further damage.

I posted this in another thread but I think this thread is a better place for it:

I was disappointed in McGrady for "quitting on the team" yesterday but pondering about it more today I think by taking himself out of the game he was revolting against Adelman. Which is probably why he was so happy in the interview today that Yao has gone to the media. Yao went to the media; TMac pulled himself out of the game. Although they are different means they both scream displeasure with the coaching staff. Like Calvin Murphy said on the radio this afternoon, the team will take the personality of the coach not the superstars. Just trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. I'm hoping he proves us wrong and we can all look at this later in the season as a tactic rather than a trend.

Don't forget when tmac strained his elbow, the lakers were blowing the rockets out at our homecourt. Coincidence? Who knows?

No, for once I was being serious. No point in risking further harm.... If TMac is done, the Rockets are done.

well the past 1 and a half games he has played his shot has been ON for the most part, seems like these guys play better against better teams. hopefully we come out swinging and own the pistons.
