Obviously, the one thing this T-mac (or the rest of this team) didn't need was a laid back, no-frills, "players coach." They clearly have zero respect, and zero compassion to play hard for the guy... That's all on Morey/management who thought Adleman would be the "perfect fit". Does anybody involved with the Rockets know what to do? Does anybody have a clear-cut pulse of this team?
The Rockets are 100% committed to winning now, if it's not happening, we are going to be terrible for a long long time while we break up the team, get a group of young talent, and then concentrate on winning again.
The team has quit on Adelman - especially Tmac. For whatever reason, the team and Tmac have quit, they have quit on the coach, playing defense and the new system. The whole point of bringing in Adelman was to make it easier on Tmac and to get movement OFF the ball to get easier shots for everyone. Tmac has basically not done any movement off the ball, he stands around waiting for the pass at the top of the key and if it is not a pick and roll, or a jump shot, it just won't work consistently. Teams are double teaming Tmac and Yao and the rest of the team has taken to standing around and watch Tmac and Yao.... Someone has to move, has to believe in what Adelman is doing, and right now, I see a bunch of players stuck in limbo.....no movement and most surprising no defensive intensity. I have not seen a team with so little pride in all my years of watching the Rockets, more than 35 years...this team is the worst, they just don't play hard. Too many fat cats on this team, players just happy to be in the league, not enough warriors. The only players I see playing with passion night in and night out are: Yao Steve Francis Scola Luther That is about it, the rest just don't do it.....unreal. DD
the only major difference between this Houston Rockets owned by the 76ers 30+pts and the Houston Rockets who blew the 76ers by 50pts last year, is the coach. enough said.
t-mac pissed me off today. if we had kobe, he would be absolutely furious. t-mac shows no emotion or fire and just stops playing.
As much as i love watching mac, let the truth be told. His mentality is what hold him back. Not talent, the guy can do anything on the court. But he doesn't have the inner drive or passion to become the best nor does he have the heart to be the best. In 2004-2005 after the Laker's were out of the playoff race (and finished 2-15), Jerry buss told Kobe to sit out and rest his body . Kobe told and i'm paraphrasing "are you kidding me". Two different superstars. Two different mentalities. Tmac if he ever got a mentality change would be the best in the league. Period.
Tmac had 8 shot attempts tonight. This is a record low for him. I think he is on strike for all the bashing. He's like a baby. Grow up T.
there are rumors that are going around about t mac not liking francis before this game..if that is true i could see t mac half assing because emotinaly he wants rafer out there which is just plain gay.francis didnt do suat but he only played like 10min i heard so cant really blae it all on him.our playerd are starting to bump heads yao mad at the players..t mac calling out the team..t mac not liking francis...we have a problem.
But at least JVG is gone so its all good right? I liked the Adelman hiring but he's not going to bring intensity to a bunch of sleepy eyed all-stars. I sometimes wonder if this team is really that bad or if JVG was really that good at getting the most out of his limited talent and covering up their deficiencies. While I think his slow paced style was emphasized to dictate team tempo, I don't think it was without justification simply because the team isn't talented enough to run and gun more frequently. At least this team had an identity under him. Head had great numbers under JVG. McGrady's dipped but he clearly stated he loved playing under JVG. Yao was never permitted to let up, and JVG actually took fines when he was officiated poorly. Even Francis said he was looking to come back to the Rockets if JVG was the coach. Now you can make the claim that JVG wasn't looking at the big picture by letting the team's weaknesses be exposed early in the season instead of in the playoffs, but those are things you address at practice and over the course of the regular season, all the while winning games to earn a good playoff seeding.
