Why is it that most of the TMac haters have less than 500 posts? aah YOFs! I don't think the name fools anyone.
well rockets fans do exist outside of this site (belong to another site along with durvasa).......that might be a hard concept for you to comprehend........me and many others have been dogging tmac for his softness for a long time now

Tmac also said it was his team last year, and it was on him if we didn't make it out of the first round. Now on 790 he says Yao is the bigger franchise player and Yao should be the one calling out the team, not himself. Not really consistent there either. Yao keeps saying things are wrong, but he hasn't met his own challenge. Rick says things need to change but doesn't appear to make any himself. Someone please take responsibility and actually do it. Not only is the team inconsistent on the court, the personnel are inconsistent in what they say and do off the court.

In any case, I disagree and believe KG has definitely received as much flack as Tmac. Clear? Everyone here so far agrees, and anyone who has watched the NBA come playoff time the past decade is well aware of this.
Tmac is a loser. If you watch the replay of the sixers game, he was getting back on defense as fast as Yao was. COME ON! He thinks doing his job is just scoring. Look at the first quarter, yeah Rox scored, but Philly scored even more!! PHILLY! How many outside shots were uncontested? He doesn't seem to understand that the offense needs everyone to contribute and touch the ball. Not him shooting a contested three with 18 seconds left on the shot clock. Adleman needs to pony up and call him out. The reason the offense looks stagnant is because Tracy is always holding the ball and calling for picks for himself. The second team showed how the offense can work when everyone buys into it. Lastly, I can't stand the way Mcgrady takes no responsibility for the bad losses. At least Yao includes himself when he bags on his team. Send Memac to NBA purgatory...somewhere like Minnesota, Altlanta, or Charlotte. He can score all the points he wants there.
good grief when a woman callls a man a sissy.... Tmac has some big time issues... maybe from a missing or very strict father.... when he was young.... maybe if he went to see a shrink... then we would not need to see...(I need to make myself look good on every shot Tmac)
haha.. I have no idea, well first, sure everyone is saying KG got a LOT of flak, but no one said that KG got as much flak as TMac (at least not from the posts before you). So I am not sure where you got the "agrees with me" part. Second, what is the "flak" that you keep talking about, when it comes to KG, what have people been saying this past decade? Lazy? Selfish? Coward? Quitter?
Yao is soft and I've stated this before also.....BUT Tracy just doesn't put forward the effort sometimes....he was brought here to be the "closer"/ "the man" and he has yet to do it...........................he's a cake.
Wow...sad to see you people's true colors. The passion is great but the hating on T-Mac and Yao is really sad. The season has not gone as planned and everyone is crying and acting like this team can't fix the prob from within...people on this board have set unrealistic expectations from this team b/c of the moves this offseason and now that they're not living up to them, you're all blamming it all on Tracy even though all the "key" acquisitions have for the most part contributed zilch. I thought this team would be about as good as last season, b/c we're relying on unknowns to pan out: Francis (could he be 3/4 of his old self?), Bonzi (has been on 5 different teams in 9-10 yrs for a reason), Scola (not NBA tested), M. James (had one great season on the worse team in the league). If these guys pan out and play up to potential, this team could be special but so far they have not! We're 11-11 and can only get better. Be patient people.
It can only get better? We're .500 right now with a good chance of falling 3 games below that mark in the next 3 games. Granted it COULD get better and the Rockets COULD win all 3 games coming up against Detroit, Dallas and Orlando...but I'll keep saying it...if the effort is not there to drive anything getting else better, the Rockets will continue to struggle. They will not be a special team if they don't at least compete every night.
Yea he was a real fruit cake when Yao went down last year. Yao on the other hand stepped up big time and got us the 4th seed... oh wait, maybe I am confused here. Nope you are. TMac could easily have quit on the team when Yao went down and he had to shoulder a lot more responsibilities, but guess what he did? 20-12 record thats what. You wanna talk about what Yao did when TMac went down? Just because you have a painful expression on your face or you jump up and down on the bench, does not mean you are giving it your all. Leading is by example. If you think TMac has not done that, then Yao sure as heck didn't either.
It is a lack of professional committment from your highest paid player...and a good number of other players follow Tmac's lead. DD
Yea, so the fact that they are getting paid millions doesn't matter, so their professional commitment DOES NOT matter, what matters is if they THINK Tmac is not putting in the effort, they wouldn't either. hmmmm
People are getting real creative in pushing all the blame on TMac for everything, even his teammates lack of effort.. hilarious. Its one thing to say he takes illadvised jumpshots. Anyways let me write down all the flak I have seen TMac get from YOFs. 1. If he shoots a lot at a low FG%, he is a ball hogger who sucks. 2. If he shoots a lot at a high FG% and we win/lose, he SHOULD have got his teammates involved first. 3. If he does not take a lot of shots (in previous loss) and we lose, he is a quitter The only way to shut TMAC haters up are just to point to our record without him and his record without Yao.
See, that's the problem with him. McGrady will compete if he's thrown in to a position where he has to, or else...at least in the regular season, not sure about the playoffs. Last year, yeah he did play like a stud when Yao went out. But the focus was completely on him, which is just the way he seems to like it. He'll do when he has to or else. Otherwise, there's something left to be desired. It's inconsistent motivation. You see it all the time. And I guarantee you that he plays hard tonight...since the game is on national TV with everybody watching. But what about a game like the 76ers...stands are barely half full, nobody's really watching but the true fans of the teams...he dogs it. It happens all the time. He seems to play harder at home and on national TV, but what about the other games? What about games like against Philly or games that are on the west coast where not as many people are watching? And also, if the focus isn't on him as much, which it isn't this year with all the talent...or if he's put in a situation where he thinks he has the leeway to give a worse effort or not bring it every night, he will certainly take that opportunity.
I really believe the Rockets can beat all 3 of those teams and being at home they should! This team has shown that it CAN play at a high level, unfortunately they haven't done it enough. I agree with you that the effort is not there every night.
actually i've been reading for a few years i just never post but i had to post after reading the nonsense in this thread.
Could Mac be going through something emotionally on a personal level (he does seem to lose someone close to him every year)? (not that it should be used as an excuse). I say that b/c he came out with that look in his eye (the I am on a mission look) up until the Lakers game here in Houston where he hurt his elbow. He was on a tear putting up 30+ games like it was Orlando t-mac again but since then he hasn't looked the same, less passionate and doesn't have that fiery look anymore.
