Very possible that doctors were wrong. Even the very best can misdiagnose. For all our faith in the "science" of medicine, it is still in some ways an inexact science. My daughter had a simple surgery similar to McGrady's to "clean it up" and she still experienced pain. Short version of long story: Multiple doctors (some of "best" in Houston) had told her basically it was all in her head (as did good old dad by that time). Turns out that another doc finally diagnosed the problem. Bottom line, if Tracy's MRI shows loss of cartilige then his pain was real and severe. No one could "play through" bone on bone knee joint. BTW, I am not a big T-Mac fan, but if a guy is really hurt, he's hurt. Let's wait to pass judgment until MRI results are back.

I've really seemed to hit a nerve with you. I've been pretty defensive and apologetic where applicable, and you just keep wondering why I care about people calling other people names. Yes, I know...sounds silly. I suppose I always try to see things from other people's perspectives. I don't like people telling me to grow up, as if I wouldn't like people to call me names, or just blindly hate on me without at least giving me good reason. This is a medium for discussion no?

I just believe that if you got something to say in a place like this, you should only post things you would be willing to say in public, to the player's face, etc. You don't have to follow that belief. No one does. I suppose I'm just trying to make this BBS a more pleasant place to have discussions.

And I don't know if you were just listing things that were silly in your first paragraph there, but I most certainly do not associate Tracy Haters with Chinese or Yao haters. That thought never even occurred to me.

And if you would try to see what I'm saying is that I don't' have issues with people criticizing McGrady. I've often admitted that he's deserved a lot of the criticism. My only real issue, if you can even call it that, is the trend of posters basically posting something along the lines of, "He's hurt? Good, McLady can bleed at home." I mean really? And you are telling me to grow up? Take your crusade up with others man.

I really don't see why you think I'm making "ad hominem attacks" when I've stated I don't, or at the very least, don't intend to.

But hey man, apparently it's got you all worked up, and I just wanted to take a last chance to at least explain myself although I don't have to. I was just trying to find a happy medium with a fellow board member. Seems as that won't happen.

So believe I am a person in need of growing up, and yet I have yet to say anything negative towards you. Reply if you will, PM me, whatever if you want to continue the discussion, but I must go now.

I have to leave work and go home to the wife.

    P.S. I'm not McGrady ;)

Dude, you're not being honest with me and maybe not being honest with yourself. You don't deny that you questioned whether other posters would criticize T-Mac directly to his face. Looking back at that, doesn't that seems just a wee bit silly to you now? You don't deny that you made some stupid joke implying that T-Mac "haters" are Chinese/Yao supporters--in other words that they're only hating on T-Mac because they want to pump Yao up. What was the point?

The fact remains that when a bunch of people "insulted" somebody you don't even know (I'm assuming) you responded by implying that they were cowards or foreigners who only like Yao Ming.

Or maybe you do know T-Mac, which I guess could kind of explain things. If that's the case next time you see him tell him that I said that he needs to cut hard without the ball and not be a black hole when somebody passes to him. Oh yeah, and how about hustling on defense as well?

I'm a Houstonian, and unfortunately, I'm ashamed of being a Houstonian..

I came to realize that Houston has the most classless and stupid fans (and that's sayin something, considering the likes of Mo-town and Philly fans)

a guy has a freaking cartilage missing, and yet some smarta$$ worthless piece of crap disguised behind an internet moniker says that it's all Mcgrady's fault, it's him being "lazy" apparently.. laziness and "lack of rehab" cause your knee to magically shed a cartilage! some other guy suggested that it's a PR move, others hailed this happening as a great moment now that the supermegastar Wafer gets to play..

it has plenty to do with ignorance, and homerism, and wanting your 7'6 countryman to be the only "star" on a team and some how magically lead them to a championship.. it has to do with classlessness, with nasty sick social agenda, with screwed up minds that have nothing better to do than kick a dead horse.

Clutchfans IS by far the best sports forum on the net, period.. too bad Houston fans don't deserve it.. the same Houston fans that boo'd when we picked Mario Williams.. the same Houston fans that disgracefully drove a mediocre Carr out of town when they failed to realize that it's hard for a QB to not be a "wussy" when his O-line is getting penetrated like a cheap you know what..

but that's what we deserve.. actually, that's what Y'ALL deserve, and yes, I'm talking to you classless ignorant posters out there. you're a disgrace to sports, to the city of Houston.. you don't deserve Dream, Clyde, Moses, Calvin, you don't deserve any of that... you deserve an overrated, weak, injury plagued 7'6 center who is hailed as the greatest center in the league just because he comes from the same country your from.. that's what it came down to.. and we whine about the officials "not treating him fairly" and contemplate what it would be like if he was African American in this league..but that's just exactly what you all deserve..

    makes me wanna puke

it can easily be the case. sometimes you feel that you have healed from an injury, but the injury can be tweaked very easily in a game when you are giving effort. its totally different working out in a gym, and running through plays at practice.

Yep. The big issue here is not how mcgrady handled himself throughot the whole thing. The issue is how could our medical staff fail to diagnose the problem. Is it possible that this is something that just happened recently? It sounds like the type of injury that happens slowly over time. Why was he playing?

Good God, I just posted in God knows how many threads after the Milwaukee game that the Rockets were pathetic. If I said that how could I criticize somebody else for saying that?

I'm a fan, not a cheerleader. And I'm interested in what benefits the team, not individual players.

i know we are better with von, but i'm just worry, how will von do in the playoff, because von it's a young player, i dont know can he handle the playoff intensity, there just too much worrying.

What problem? Feigen at the Chronicle doesn't think this injury is season ending, much less career ending. We have no idea how serious it really is. It could be something relatively minor that simply developed after T-Mac's last examination.

The report is missing cartilage which is not a minor injury.

badgerfan, stop saying feign "thinks" this and that. he said season-ending is inaccurate b/c the rockets HAVE NOT RELEASED THE MRI REPORTS.

so in actuality, feign doesn't know anything except tracy's out for tonight.

but why would he be out in the first place? why was an MRI ordered? if his knee shouldn't be a problem? i don't think you need an MRI for "general soreness" do you?

    how would you know that?

that's what a lot of fans on here proposed him and yao get one every 1-2 weeks, but i'm not sure the rockets do do that.
