The guy has been helping to carry this team. Is he without faults? No. I guess his 8 assists in the first 3 quarters wasn't stepping up. I guess passing out of a double team to get an open shot for a teammate isn't stepping up. Yes, he shot poorly...not sure if it was the injured shoulder or just being off. In the celtics game he was doubled and tripled the entire game right at the perimeter. They are far and away the best defensive team in the league, and when you only have one player to focus on as opposed to two or three, it becomes easier to shut someone down. Shouldn't you know this if you are such a big hoops fan? And I guess he didn't do anything good in those 12 games we won in a row WITHOUT Yao. Nah, let's just pile on for losing to the best team in the NBA. This $hit gets really old. TMac deserves criticism, but it's just ridiculous when you start a thread after a statement (which was true, but proabably shouldn't have been said)
I'm not a T-Mac hater, but I was shocked he said what he did last night... After such an awful start to the game he felt the need to exhibit his arrogance once again? That's definitely not what I expect from a leader. Don't get me wrong, the Rockets wouldn't be the team they are right now without him, but the Tracy needs to learn to be a little more politically correct. It's not so much what he said, but rather how he said it. He could've blurted out, "We needed someone to step up at some point and I've done it in the past, so I imposed my will on the remainder of the game," and things would be TONS better. Typical Tracy moment. I still think he's a genuinely good guy, even though stuff like that slips.
lol yeh I love Tmac but I can't defend him on this one. Someone needs to tell him that he can't say that actual "cliche" line himself and it's mostly used by journalists to describe what someone did in a game or whatever. I don't think he's being arrogant, he just needs to choose better words.
Hahaha, you'd like that, wouldn't you? Yet another example of a fake ass fan pretending to support the team even though he really wants them to fail so he can feel vindicated. You, sir, are not a Rockets fan. And no, I, in fact, will not see what you're talking about in a few weeks. In fact, you will probably be pretending this thread never existed in a few weeks.
I am wondering how Tmac is reacting when he read this thread. I guess he must very enjoy it! For anyone, if his or her every word is analyzed so deeply, they must feel very good about themselves!
politically correct? he spoke the truth. he admitted to a slow start and then took over the game. he IS the Rockets best player and he DID impose his will. how is that arrogant? how is that "politically incorrect"? post-game quotes by players, coaches, or even an analyst should not be the concern of Rockets fans.
I'm a big fan, but not a BLIND fan but I wish I was wrong on this. I never expected for us to have 22 straight wins either. But to say it was Tmac's will, no sir. I would pick Scolandry over tmac's presence on the court. It's their energy that made us a far better team that last year.
dumb post again. hayes played with just as much as energy as anybody last yr. the difference is scola and landry actually FINISH the shots that tmac CREATES. energy is nice, but results are what we all want. scola and landry actually make the layups. it doesn't matter if they play like hayes and suck garbage offensively. and you pick scolandry's presence over tmac's? ask scola and landry whose presence gives them all those open shots? landry would be broke if he had to give tmac $1 for every dunk/layup he gives him.
where does the tag that the rockets have the best team chemistry in the L come from? we have had the best chemistry every year tmac has been here. and he's been saying these all the time, from the moment he became a rocket. so dr. phil, how do you think it's going to affect the chemistry?
Traci was not in europe when Scola scored more than he did here. Traci was not with the Argentinian team when they won the world champ.
no, i support the rockets. if you make these absurd claims to any rockets, i'll defend them just as much, the same way some dude destroys rafer after just one bad game earlier. what makes it worse is you're criticizing something that is stupid, unrelated to how the rocket plays, and taking the quotes completely out of context.
11 rebound's 9 assist most of that in the first 3 quarters then he picks up a few points in the 4th to hold off the t-wolves and yall bash him let's try being true fans nomatter wtf he says to the media. is it that big of a deal? if it is please explain because i must be ignorant to this.
No, you're not. A "big fan" does not turn on their team's most important player for something so inconsequential. You are a poser. And I guess you think it's just a coincidence that we went 26-1 in our first 27 games after McGrady returned from his injury...
Have you noticed that every year since Tmac's been here, except for the injury riddled year, announcers/coaches/players always talk how good their chemistry is? Heck, they even rejected a J.Ho for Mike James trade in the middle of the year last year b/c they didn't want to ruin the chemistry. Tmac is not a chemistry killer, and he's been saying all the same stuff every year.
