It amazes me when people call Tmac a great player. He hasn't been out the first round, so how can he be labeled as a great player.

Have you notice that everytime Tmac poses his will, it's always against the cupcakes teams?

Right so I'm stating my opinion and your using series of insults towards me beecause I stated my opinion.

SERIOUSLY YOU ARE EXPOSED BUDDY. Thank You bbjai for further justifying my point that this guy is a pure hypocritical hater.
Thank you buc for sorting out between hate and critcism.

Htown_finest, if you were criticizing, would you be so hypocritical? Would you call others r****ds and tell them to get off other people's nuts? Would you dare to compare marbury and t-mac in anyway?

(You said Im r****ded and need to go back to 4th grade, but Im replying to what you said. And that is that marbury is no longer a superstar, and players would take a college PG over him. He is now a below average player, and you're comparing him to t-mac??)

You can't argue for life buddy, quit insulting others and get over it. You EVEN insulted my previous post that was meant to make peace, that is horrible buddy, you're basically trashing switzerland.

I stated before and I will state it again. If you guys complain about t-mac whining, then you have to diss kobe too cause he is worse than t-mac. And also, you fans will have to suck it up cause you're whining more than he does.

If you complain about him being arrogant. When lebron was injured earlier this season and he was about to return, he claimed that HE was going to destroy other teams and that HE is what other teams should worry about again.

No "we" don't. Only lunatics and creeps can "hate" McGrady. It's ridiculous...

McGrady scores 41, Rockets beat Hornets 106-96 in 18th straight win

By CHRIS DUNCAN, AP Sports Writer Mar 9, 12:05 am EST

HOUSTON (AP)—The Houston Rockets’ winning streak is getting serious. So is their march to the top of the Western Conference.

Tracy McGrady scored 41 points Saturday night and the Rockets stretched their winning streak to 18 games with a 106-96 victory over the New Orleans Hornets.

The Rockets have won their last nine games by double digits and moved into a tie with the Hornets in the overall conference standings. Houston, 13-15 in mid-December, closed within one game of San Antonio in the Southwest Division.

With two wins in three meetings with the Hornets this season, the Rockets have the third-best record in the conference. Only the Los Angeles Lakers and Spurs are ahead of Houston and that was motivating McGrady more than the winning streak before the game.

“The third spot,” said McGrady. “Once I heard that this morning, I was like, ‘OK. Let’s get it done.”

The Rockets have the NBA’s longest victory streak since the Lakers won 19 in a row in the 1999-2000 season. Houston became just the seventh team in history to win 18 or more consecutive games—five of the previous six won the NBA championship.

McGrady said bluntly that the Rockets’ streak still has no significance. His mind is already preparing for the postseason, where he’s winless in six series.

“Our concentration and focus is really all about the playoffs,” he said. “We’ve had pretty good runs in the regular season. Not quite like this, but, this is a team that’s won 50 games in the past. It’s all about the playoffs with us.

“The streak is great. We’ll make a little history,” he said. “But it really doesn’t mean anything.”

McGrady certainly played like there was plenty on the line Saturday night.

He hit 17 of 27 shots, reaching 40 points for the fourth time this season. The Rockets also made a season-high 14 3-pointers, improving to 6-0 since Yao Ming went out with a foot injury.

“Now, the mental challenge is there are no letdowns as we continue on,” coach Rick Adelman said. “We’ve got to stay on the same level.”

Chris Paul had 37 points and 11 assists for the Hornets, who had won five of their last six.

Rafer Alston added 20 points for Houston, which has won 12 consecutive games at the Toyota Center, the franchise’s longest home-court streak since 1993-94, the Rockets’ first championship season.

Houston plays New Jersey at home on Monday night, the first of three games against Eastern Conference teams with losing records. The win streak could easily reach 21 heading into next Sunday’s showdown with the Lakers in Houston.

The Rockets are trying their best not to get ahead of themselves.

“Honestly, we’re just happy to be winning games and trying to climb into the playoff race,” said Shane Battier, who hit two 3-pointers and grabbed 10 rebounds. “At this point, the numbers are a little academic. That’s not what’s important, that’s not what’s driving us now. We’re striving to play good basketball and that’s the focus of the team right now.”

Both teams were short-handed on the front line.

David West, the Hornets’ second-leading scorer and rebounder, missed his third straight game with a sprained left ankle. Rookie Carl Landry, a key reserve during the Rockets’ winning streak, sat out with a bruised knee.

The Rockets trailed 23-20 after the first quarter, then took command with a 14-0 run midway through the second.

McGrady sank a 3-pointer from the top of the key early in the spurt, then soared for a two-handed, alley-oop dunk off a long feed from Alston. McGrady hit another 3-pointer from the corner to put Houston up 40-28, then nodded and screamed at the cheering fans before running back down the court.

“Tracy McGrady was fantastic,” said New Orleans coach Byron Scott. “Everything we tried to do against him just didn’t work.”

The rest of the half turned into an entertaining 3-point shootout—11 of the last 12 field goals came from long range.

Peja Stojakovic and Paul ended Houston’s run with back-to-back 3s, but Steve Novak answered with a 3 from the corner. Morris Peterson sank a pair of 3s before Battier and Alston each hit one in the final minute to give the Rockets a 59-46 lead at the break.

The teams hit 16 3-pointers in the second quarter and 18 in the first half.

Paul had 11 points and four assists in the third quarter to keep New Orleans close. But McGrady’s jumper over Peterson in the final minute of the quarter gave the Rockets an 81-72 lead and gave him at least 30 points for the 11th time this season.

McGrady started the final quarter with consecutive jumpers over the 6-foot-1 Jannero Pargo and 6-8 rookie Julian Wright. Luther Head and Battier tacked on 3-pointers to stretch Houston’s lead to 91-74.

The Rockets have won 27 of their last 30 games, the best record in the NBA since the start of 2008.

McGrady's 47 leads Rockets past Jazz

By Doug Alden, AP Sports Writer
SALT LAKE CITY — Tracy McGrady scored 47 points and the Houston Rockets got a little revenge for last season's opening-round playoff loss by beating the Utah Jazz 106-95 Thursday night.

Mike James added 15 points -- two more than the Jazz reserves combined -- and Chuck Hayes had 13 rebounds for the Rockets, who improved to 2-0 under new coach Rick Adelman and have yet to play a home game this season.

Carlos Boozer had 30 points and 16 rebounds, and Mehmet Okur finished with 16 points and 10 boards, but after dominating the first quarter the Jazz tapered off in the second and never recovered.

Deron Williams had 18 points and 13 assists, and Ronnie Brewer scored 13 points for the Jazz, who led by 12 in the first quarter before McGrady took over the game.

McGrady seemed intent on avenging another first-round knockout in the playoffs, as the Jazz rallied from a 2-0 series deficit and won the series in seven games. Even with Yao Ming on the bench with foul trouble and the Jazz knowing very well who was going to be getting the ball, Utah couldn't stop McGrady.

Inside, outside or at the foul line, McGrady carried the Rockets. He was 17-for-27 from the floor and 11-for-14 from the line and added four assists.

The Rockets forced 20 turnovers while committing just 12, and the Jazz didn't help themselves any by going 20-for-29 from the foul line.

Every time the Jazz made a run in the second half, McGrady stopped it. Okur hit a short jumper to get the Jazz within 89-82, but McGrady answered with a 3-pointer and did teammate Dikembe Mutombo's finger wag while backpedaling on defense. The "no, no, no" gesture seemed appropriate because the Jazz could not stop McGrady when they needed to all night.

It also fired up the Jazz, but not quite enough. Utah closed within five twice late in the fourth quarter, but no closer.

After Boozer cut the lead to 96-91, McGrady hit two free throws with 2:53 remaining, then Yao added a layup that cooled off Utah's comeback and quieted the fans in Utah's home debut.

Yao finished with 11 points and seven rebounds.

Notes:mad: Houston's reserves outscored Utah's 30-13. ... McGrady scored 13 of Houston's 24 points in the first quarter. ... Boozer had a double-double by halftime with 13 points and 11 rebounds. ... Jazz rookies Morris Almond and Kyrylo Fesenko were inactive for the second straight game.

I never downplayed Hakeem, it was just my opinion that the Bulls would have beat the Rockets in the finals.

When Tmac goes off it's because he has mismatch. When you put a tough defender on him he doesn't fare to well.

Hmm....nice. So the 13 in 33 against Bruce Bowen and the Spurs doesnt count because.......

Glad to know that if we get Utah or New Orleans in the play-offs we will have a huge mismatch in T-Mac's favor.

And last years game where Rockets with 1 star who is T-mac defeated the Spurs who had 3 stars when Yao was out.

That was a 95 - 90 win to the rockets, it was amazing, considering the fact that bruce bowen was their best defender and possibly best in league, with 3 other superstars along side him, but rockets still managed to pull it off with only Mcgrady.

People here's hate are not credible. Hornets doesn't count? Dallas doesn't count? Jazz doesn't count? Kings who defeated the lakers and the warriors don't count? Warriors don't count?

Its a list that piles on and on. When you're one star and you have no other double team threat on your team, life is harder. Before Pau came Kobe had odom who can be considered a double team thread once in a while.

By the way, so called "cupcake teams" like timberwolves and bobcats are teams that beat the suns and lakers. So use your term wisely, every nba team can beat another nba team.
