Good thread title, bad initial post. McGrady is the heart and soul of this team, and one could argue that he's playing the best basketball of anyone in the playoffs.

Exactly the same feeling here. TMac sounds he does not care, good series, down to the wire, great games, blah, blah. We do not need this kind of response at this moment. we need fire and will.

As great as he has been in this series, he did not step up for the last three games in a row. Poor shooting in 4th qr in game 3 and 4, had rebound poked away by Howard in game 4, missed the 1st free throw at the end of the game today and had to go for a desperate 3....

Tigermission, I know you are truly a Rockets fan and I enjoyed many of your posts but you have to admit that for the past three games TMAc has been just mediocre maybe good in terms of stats but certainly not being great, being a winner, a finisher.

Go Rockets, Gotta win game 6

He said "great game, great basketball...i hate to lose but i'm enjoying this". Not the exact words, but close.

I didn't see any fire in his voice or eyes.

TOF, I have to tell you open your eyes, if T-Mac did earlier what he did in 4th quarter, no doubt, we won this game. T-mac lacks the judgements on court, that's why he lost all playoffs before. He has to learn to cooporate with his teammates.

Umm thats a pretty retarted comment.
Tmac is the reason we get wide open 3 point shots for our players.
If not for Tmac this team wouldnt get more than 60 - 70 points, we have tons of players that can create their own shot, james, sura, barry, wesley, heck even moochie, but only one of them can consistently find a wide open man and that is Tmac.

He makes his teammates much better than you give him credit for.
And he was also gaurding Novitzky.

That is what he is. He commented after the loss to Dallas he had 48 and Dirk had 53 that "that was fun".

I see Yao has more fire than him.

he is listed at 7-0, but earlier in the series one of the commentators noted that dirk told him he was 7'1 and 3/4.

In Tmac's worst game of the series:

    7-22
    25 points
    9 rebounds
    6 assists
    3 steals
    2 blocks
    2 turnovers

And I have to read some hatas comments about how he could have done better.

Fine, it is within the realm of possibility that he could have been better. Could have gone to the basket more. But I think b*tching about Tmac when he is the best player in the entire postseason so far is out of line. Especially from a Rocks fan.

Must be nice to be a Mavs fan. When their star is a no-show p*ssy, they can just complain how the other six stars didn't show up.

And about the grinning and post game interview:

You guys need to get it into your heads that different human beings respond to circumstances differently. The only indicator you need for Tmacs hearts and will to win is his GAME. If you're picking apart facial expression at the buzzer or his tone of voice in the post game interview, sorry- you're being lame.

We could of course have Steve come back, be pissed off after the loss, be pissed off during the interview, show lots of heart and passion, and then go into game six and have 2 assists with 6 turnovers. Whatver.

I'll take the star who shows his desire to win with his *game.* If Tracy doesn't show up for game six and we lose, you have something to say. Tonight I don't think you got much.

We didn't have T-mac last year, we go as far as of now, A great player has to know when to take shoots, when to pass ball.
This team is almost turned to be post-Magic. Are you satified with these ugerly loss?

A great player has to know how to lead a team to win, not sleep on stats.!!!!

He might be the best player in stats, he far from a leader who can give a ring. He lacks the ability to utilize his teammates the best. What he has done in this series is just to grab stats. That nosense in playoffs.

You have to win playoffs to be a great player!!!!

If you think he doesn't know how to make his teammates better, I'm going to have to disagree. Very, very, very strongly disagree.

    Are you watching the games?

As I have said of him, he should do what he did in 4th quarter earlier, that separates him from a great player.

Hopefully, he learnd something from this game.

    ugerly loss?

we lost by freakin less than 5 points each game. we were in it till the last seconds in every damn game.

AND IN EVERY GAME, the fault can be divided equally, when tmac isnt hogging the ball its the other teamates not hitting the shots. so what tmac is doing is good enough(well minus the not driving it in as much part). Others need to hit the shots more often, plain and simple...

Oh and yao needs to stay outa foul trouble

How do you know he was not angry? Do you have the ability to look in other people minds and see what they are feeling? Because that is the only way you can KNOW what T-mac feels.

I really hate it when people bash the best player we have, and i definitly hate it when people question their heart.

T-mac has been the best player of us this serie, this entire season, he carried us to the point we are now. Of course we are disapointed that we went up 2-0 and now we are down 2-3. But T-mac has done everything in his power for us to win. T-mac is one of the most selfless players in the nba(Garnett and duncan too). So do not think that he is selfish.

Try to be disapointed in stern, (or the free throw shooting)
