Some interesting Box-score figures for starters: Dirk Nowitzki is the only player at ASG without a point (he played for 8min26s) Diwght Howard is the player with the highest number of rebounds in total (11) K. Irving is the player with the highest number of assists (14) 2 players shared the honour of having the most PFs (4) - K. Irving and B. Griffin -no one fouled out. Highest steals (3) went to L. James and C. Paulo Highest TO (5) went to K. Irving It is also interesting to see no one had any shots blocked at all - yeah, it's ASG - where's the defense??? It was also interesting to see both coaches of East and West opted to play one of their starters for less time - i.e. for east D. Wade was played only for 11:41 (5 other bench players played longer than Wade) and for the West J. Harden was played only for 23:46 (C. Paul played 24:29). Highest points (38) goes to K. I think Nowitzki's time has gone by, not sure why the coaches still voted him into the ASG, he is a great player but I don't think he fit into the ASG anymore (but perhaps that's just me?) It's awesome that you did all the math, but I feel like you wasted your time calculating stuff for a game that doesn't matter. Oh well, still awesome!
Damn Harden for being "middle-of-the-road" in a meaningless exhibition game with some of the best currently active players in the world. Why is he deferring to the second greatest player currently active in the NBA? At least he was in his element on defense.
Assuming we take this seriously, looking at PPM is kind of meaningless. Harden only took 7 shots, which is far lower than any other player in the starting lineup. Basically, Harden was the only one who wasn't jacking up shot at every possible opportunity (unlike Lillard or Aldridge who jacked up 8 and 9 shots each respectively, despite playing far less minutes).
Chris Bosh: 100% shooting from halfcourt. Personally, I'd like to see detailed statistical analysis of the NBA on TNT All-Star Challenge between Ernie, Chuck, C-Webb, Kenny, and Shaq.
