Hmm, that's too bad. I didn't have any problems when I got my Wii from TRU. I got it on launch day though, so maybe they changed things up since then.
Im sure they saw they were only selling the unit's and no accessories so they decided to do that. They don't have any profit margin on the console so they have to recoup their cost somewhere i guess. It's a stupid thing to do but at the same time we know why they are doing it.
sooo... how is it? read a cnn article that said they are shipping four mil consoles by the eoty (one mil at launch). shouldn't be too hard to find one. need an insider's perspective. holding out for mario galaxy.
saw an cnn article online that i forwarded to a couple of folks at work that said that a total of four mil would be shipped by the year's end (edit: which doesn't contradict your post). will forward to you as well after sobering up a little.
I'd trust Nintendo over CNN for the launch numbers: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6162373.html I know about the 4M figure, and I don't doubt that they can hit it (surprised they didn't hit 1M at launch in the US actually).
sigh... i trust nintendo and their games, but with their hardware... well... i'm almost wishing that they'd turn into a sega... making games to xbox and ps3. too popular in japan or something... i dunno. mario on xbox? that would kick arse.
The DS is owning Japan right now, but the Gamecube (and the N64 too IIRC) did terribly in Japan, so they haven't really been that popular in the video game console world in Japan. I imagine the Wii will change that though. I think most people know how I feel about Nintendo's hardware decisions (and if not, my view is usually pretty negative). That said, I don't think I'd like it if Nintendo went 3rd party. If Nintendo didn't make hardware, I don't think the industry would have ever gone the direction that Nintendo went with the Wii, and that would be a shame IMO. I like what they are doing with the Wii (for the most part), and if they can continue with ideas like that, I think they should stay in the business (especially if they improve in some other areas). If all they did was make great games and nothing else, then maybe it would be a good idea. Hopefully, they wouldn't go the way of Sega as far as quality goes (see Sonic...imagine Mario games being made at the same quality).
I want to know who buys the overpriced rebadged Nintendo SD memory cards. GOD ARE THE MASSES REALLY THAT DUMB?/?? On the card it even has the (sandisk?) label on it.
Sega is dead, you should never wish that fate on anyone. They utterly destroyed the once great Sonic The Hedgehog.
man.....toys r us employees can buy the systems??? at best buy they dont let us buy the ps3 or the wii. its ridiculous
