not really. The irish is part of the team mascot for the Celtics. The Utah name and mascot has absolutely nothing to do with religion.
I don't find that funny either. I think everything related to race, religion, politics should not be joked about. What would you say if Rockets play on the road, and someone hold a sign " Commie(s) go home!" because Yao is playing, you find that funny? I don't.
Two years ago during the playoffs I made a "Dallas Kills Presidents" sign... I decided as I walked in that was probably a bad idea, seeing as though my seats were courtside and the entire stadium and national television audience would no doubt see it.
