Thanks tinman, I had an ear to ear smile on my face watching that. David Anderson shouldn't have gotten to touch Dream. He didn't even look like he knew who he was.
A God amongst men. He should've done his signature Dream Shake before he threw it into the crowd. Shimmy shimmy Dream Shake....BAM into the crowd!
1. that was really the Dream in the video at Toyota Center, not Eddie Murphy from coming to America 2. those were real Rockets fans at Toyota Center, it's not I edited the video and put some CGI TOFs there 3. who the hell uses the word bogus anymore? what are you still watching Bill and Ted playing twister against the reaper?
great video, I remember that. What great fans at Compaq/Summit! His last game before joining fellow beloved Rocket Kenny Smith on TNT. We know that turned out!
First of all you have no idea of tinman/clutchfans if you didn't realize this thread was started based off of the "tmac has no response" article thread. You are delusional if you can't see what off handed backwards slap he is providing to fans of Rockets who thought tmac might of deserved cheers instead of boo's. His schtick IS old and tired. You COMPLETELY missed the point if you think I'm tagging on him for being a fan of that era. I'm doing to him exactly what he does to any other ROCKETS fan who may of appreciated Tmac or Yao, or Francis before that. I merely turned it into a situation that mirrored his own putting down of fans or players who aren't old school. Oh, and I've told you before tinman. I registered well before you and have been on clutchfans before you or hey were around.
No, I didn't miss the point. It wasn't that hard to see through, despite the fact you also said this, <blockquote>Hak34 to liljojo: <hr>"<i>I was pointing out to [tinman] that just because he thinks he is "old school" and that only his era of fandom equates to being a "real" fan, that he isn't old school enough compared to others. </i>."<hr></blockquote> I don't care about your simplistic attempt to make tinman defensive (which failed), and your apparent backpedaling to liljojo, but you also chose to unnecessarily see if you could bait me to bite on your attack on Barkley. That didn't work either. good grief, dude. I think I can actually guess who you are.
You have zero clue. In no way was I baiting you. I could care less about your opinion to be honest I don't think I have for over 10 years. This was completely about tin and his tired act which many have stated many times already. Oh and since you want to go there. You sir are deranged if you believe Barley and his few years deserves much more in Rocket lore than what Tmac did. Tmac didn't play with Clyde, Hakeem, or Pippen. And in no way does he belong in the same breathe as the Malone, Hakeem, Rudy, Murphy, Hayes, or even Barry. At best if he is lucky he is third tier behind players like Kenny, Sampson, Horry etc. It's hilarious that Tmac "quit" on the Rox, but tinny idolizes Maxwell, who also quit on his team, in a much more precarious a time to do so.
This isn't a recent thing. People will cheer Yao Ming any and every time he comes back to Houston for any reason, and he hasn't done anything. No doubt someone will chime back "he got to the second round". I don't give a damn; the 2nd round doesn't win you any hardware. We haven't even won a division banner. Tracy didn't hold "the decision" and was professional enough in his approach to the game while he was here. He never badmouthed the city of Houston and he only signed the check he was offered. Still, it won't matter to some people. They cling to hopes that he could have taken our team to the promised land, and are bitter that he didn't. Little do they care that it takes multiple people to create a good team. Tracy's career will go down as one of the most wasted in history. All I can do is sigh at people who continue to bash him - and especially those who continue to bash his fans. I don't care if he wins any games with a team besides the Rockets, but you've got a complex if you continue to hate him. Yup, I will continue to disagree with those people without being immature and labeling you as a 'bad fan'. And we'll all keep coexisting. And Tinman will continue rambling about people from the 90's (heroes as they may be) who aren't relevant to Tracy McGrady.
If I'm "bitter" for any reason, it's because 1) Tracy's heart had been in question for a solid year or two as a Rocket before he 2) quit on us. As to cheering for Yao or Chuck whether they won anything or not, the opposite is true for them: 1) No one has EVER questioned their heart and 2) they never quit on us. That's a pretty huge difference. Like Clutch said in his article, when a star of Tracy's talent level is roundly booed every place he's ever called home, well....that says all you need to know. I don't really think it's all that difficult to understand.
if you have NO clue of anything about the Houston Rockets before the 70's you are NOT a true Rockets fan.
there's a lesson to be learned from the 90s dude and the 00s too. Dream, even though he contemplated leaving (contract dispute) stuck it out through the best times and the worst times, for 17 years in Houston. While that other person you talk about continued to jump from city to city when things got bad. you were right, it takes more than one person and it also takes patience and leadership. What happened to Toronto and Orlando? they eventually made it pretty far in the playoffs. Orlando even made it to the finals. Paul Pierce went through some horrible seasons in Boston. and back to the subject, people at Toyota Center / Compaq Center / The Summit, they've seen it all and they know who deserves their cheers. I've been to the Summit / Compaq Center and Toyota center. those are all Rockets fans who paid their hard earned money to watch a game. And the rowdies have been getting crap here too, they only cheer the Rockets and boo the opposing teams. nothings wrong with that. this is clutchfans dude, originally just a bunch of hardcore Rockets fans and we haven't left.
