    I'll ignore the NFC part.

Patriots - Pressure, hit, and sack Tom Brady. Do this, and I think the Texans destroy the Patriots. Don't do this, and I think the Patriots destroy the Texans.

No one else in the AFC even appears worthy. Right now any way... This is the NFL after all.

But towards my point: I’ve figured out their D… Not really but hear me out. The Texans are vulnerable on 1st and 2nd downs and 3rd and short. The hurry up, quick slants and back shoulder passes have shown to be really effective against them. This defense bends and flexes until they get an opponent into 3rd and 7 or 8. Then something good ALWAYS happens on 3rd and long.

It might seem like I’m BS’n, but go back and look at some of the big plays this defense has made this season. Most recently I think it was Quinn’s interception this past Sunday. Perfect example.

Avoid the Giants... They are clutch and have all the experience.

NFC: Packers and the Giants. The latter only lives to be a clutch playoff team.

AFC: Patriots and the steadily improving Broncos under Manning.

    AFC:
    Patriots
    - biggest threat for homefield advantage
    - mediocre secondary but great run stuffing defense
    - buzzsaw West Coast 2TE attack is a poison pill for Wade's defense.

    NFC:
Packers - no need to explain

Giants - can't hate the champs. I'd like to think we could bring out bad Eli though.

SF - I think their offense will have bigger problems against our D than VV....but they've got stellar special teams facing our sad sacks.

Will wait until the Nov game to comment on Chicago. Their defense could shut us down cold....but I again like our chances to bring out Bad Jay Cutler.

In the AFC it is the Pats; in the NFC I don't want to play the Giants or the Packers, though I think the Texans can beat them, but they are tough outs.

I don't think the Patriots want to see E. Manning in the playoffs.

As for the Texans, I'd be scared of the Patriots, GB and the Broncos. I want no part of a Manning 4th quarter comeback.

And until the Ravens actually lose at home...if we had to play them in Baltimore, that could very well be the toughest opponent.

You can run on the Steelers now. Their #2 overall defense is a little surprising since they gave up over 30 points in 2 out of the first 3 weeks.

    Week 1: McGahee - 16 carries for 64 yards. Denver scores 31.

Week 2: The best game vs the Jets. Allow 10 points. Shut down a #14 overall Jets O at home.

Week 3: McFadden - 18 carries for 118 yards. Oakland scores 34. Palmer throws for 3 TDs.

    Week 4: Bye

Week 5: McCoy - 16 carries for 53 yards (best running D performance for them so far) and 4 receptions for 27 yards/TD. Hold the #10 overall Eagles O to 14 points at home.

Week 6: BJGE - 18 carries for 69 yards. Pass D completely shuts down AJ Green (1 reception for 8 yard TD).

    -----------------------------------------

In summary, I still think their defense isn't as elite as it once was. It seems to be improving and they have a test with the #1 overall offense coming in this week. Their offense though...

    Ranked 26 overall.

Correction. Their run offense is 26th overall. Their pass offense is 6th. Was looking at the wrong chart :)

    Well, my opinion is...

Yeah, what he said. I've been waiting to decry the lack of recognition the Broncos have been getting in the media... but after that ESPN insider article, I guess the pendulum has swung the other way? They may currently be working their kinks out, but come playoff time, I think the Broncos will be scary.

I think everyone is acknowledging that the Texans' defense may not fare well against a pass-happy offense as helmed by a top qb, but then again, who does? I'm trying to think of examples (during the Wade era) of how we fared against elite qbs...

    2011
    L New Orleans
W Atlanta (their offense was still developing last year)

    2012
W Denver (Peyton and the offense still getting used to each other)
    L Green Bay
