Which has nothing to do with the view of people and how it has changed over the last 15 years. The statement was made that in the last 15 years what was once considered "Centrist" is now considered left. If you can tell me a issue that has seen this shift I will listen, I cannot think of one right now.
Welfare, taxes, defense, basically anything - why do you think "liberal" is now a dirty word? This is not a difficult question. The late 60's ended in the 80's. Everybody recognizes this.
with all due respect to george carlin, RIP, the cookie monster is the finest american comedian ever. i mean, i can feel the pee coming on as he tries to resist eating that irresistable baked disk. then he fails, but not in some defeated and wimpy manner but with gusto and glee, as if he had the world's longest straw and was about to drink everyone on earth's milkshake to wash down the awesome cookies. gets me every time.
